    The Final Revision

Bit dull though, we should name them like the old Amiga chip sets. Mia, Emma and Hannah are apparently the most popular girl's names in Germany at the moment (not that they have to be girl's names). Of course the A500's motherboard itself was called the B-52 Rock Lobster.

Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

Harsh, BBCs were in every school at the time so there was a valid reason for parents buying them for their kids, not sure what the Amstrad argument was ;). Of course if you couldn't afford a BBC (like my parents couldn't) then you ended up with an Acorn Electron, which I still have, also...

Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

I keep reading comments about how the Pyra will be obsolete before it's ready. Now my understanding of obsolete is that it has been replaced by something that does everything it does but better, so if you could point me to the more up to date handheld Linux computer I should be buying instead...

An update of the waiting game

Just as an aside, the alternative to EvilDragon's transparent, honest process with no unrealistic timescales is the debacle at retro computers ZX Spectrum reboot. The Register has been covering it extensively and there's an article on the latest problems today ...

    Let's move the moulds!

Well there's got to be some benefit to advancing in years, I've been able to play games from my teenage years (BBC/Electron) on the go for years ;)

What programming language should I use

I feel the need for a small word of caution on this one. Whilst I like Python and it's fast becoming the language of choice in many areas (data processing and machine learning being two of the big ones) I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone as a first language. It's just a bit too...

I wish you could feel things through the internet!

Re the topic title. Be honest though, how hard would you slap some of us if we could ;)

    Pyra + CIA

Well I don't think the Pyra has them but if it does hope they work, it was a bugger when one of the CIA chips went in my Amiga back in day ;)

    Parts, Boards and the Rotator

Ah, for PowerPC stuff that'd be the die hard Amiga fans then ;) I clung on far too long myself but bailed just before going the PPC route. The straw for me was when I realised my next upgrade would have to be a move to a £100+ tower kit that wouldn't actually do anything for my setup other...

OpenROV Support? Using the pyra to control a submarine drone.

Not specifically that drone but you might have better joy from ROS (http://wiki.ros.org) for drones, robots etc in general, it's targeted at Ubuntu out of the box but I know there have been efforts in the community to get it running on Debian.

    Pyra Favorite Color

Honestly wouldn't mind any of them, the clear is growing on me (didn't like it at first), the red is fine and I'm struggling to tell much of a difference between the black and grey. Pretty much all the modern tech I own these days is black/dark grey (Yep no Apple stuff here) so something...

How to calculate a price for the Pyra

Not a clue, to be fair it wasn't stolen I lost it, must have fallen out of my coat pocket, it just hasn't been handed in anywhere. As for making it look like new, well then it wouldn't have been my Pandora ;) Seriously though I'm missing the thing, used it every day.

How to calculate a price for the Pyra

Well there's likely to sadly be one more pre-order from me. Sadly because I'm suddenly in the market for a Pyra after losing my first batch Pandora :( But hey if I'm replacing it I might as well replace it with a new model :) On a related note if anyone in the Lancashire area gets offered a...

Need to find new usage options for Pandora: else selling it and leaving the community

As others have said it's difficult if you always have a laptop with you but for me the portability side is the key. My Pandora signalled the final death for my Palm Lifedrive(had to go back to it when my Pandora purple/dead screened on me but it wasn't fun), I suspect having a palm top...

    Truecrypt 7.1a problem

Ah, thanks for that, not just me being dim then. I'll see if I can find the previous version and ignore pndManagers suggestions to upgrade for a while then.

    Truecrypt 7.1a problem

Hi guys, Probably me just being a bit numb somewhere but I recently upgraded truecrypt to 7.1a, now I get an error trying when trying to mount a file. After accepting the truecrypt password and asking for the admin password I get this error : "Failed to obtain administrator privileges ...
