    Modem interfaces (voice,data,...)

Making nice QtQuick UIs is usually quite straightforward. I'll gladly help by answering questions and providing some variable level of support, but getting into a new project that requires unknown amounts of maintenance time in the future is not an option for me at the moment. If there was...

Bob's Game got realeased and Open Sourced!

It's not the RPG though. It's apparently a puzzle game which the RPG is about making.

    FunKeyMonkey

Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any definitive documentation for using uinput, but below are a couple of links that, combined, should explain both. Handle reacts to any events from the source device ("real" input device). The keycodes are pushed for any codes that the target device ("virtual"...

With full steam into the new year!

I assume you meant me. Which assessment did I make that I was wrong in? The practicality of keeping hardware on just for the uptime? I do stand by that. WizardStan was probably entirely correct about the cost of a computer in standby, but I never made any assessments about that. I did give a...

For the cost-benefit ratio you are correct, and I applaud your conviction to go as far as backing it up with actual evidence. I don't use suspend much because I've had severe issues with it in the past. Hence the 'lowest energy consumption state convenient'.

With full steam into the new year!

And yet there are users claiming to use "non-bloated" desktop environments because they take less time to start :). I agree that too much of the conversation revolves around boot time though. I use it because of the nice tooling. I know everyone doesn't like it, but I find it nicer to have a set...

Exactly this. As is said in the first post in this thread: News will come when they're available and ED has time to share them here.

News from the meeting at GC

It's not that we (at least I) don't want to see critical questions. It's that your questions seem to ignore the "stuff happens" aspect of any development project. Generally any product is released when it's ready or it's released unfinished. We want to see this thing released as soon as possible...

News from the meeting at GC

There's an ancient news thread, but I don't think it's valid anymore. EDIT: three years old, soon: https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/how-to-calculate-a-price-for-the-pyra.73755/

    Power, Memory and Schematics

Maybe not intentionally, but the options he leaves open are continuing the debate ad nauseam or conceding to his demands. I count that as badgering. The team has already given their statement regarding the issue for now, so continuing the debate would be pointless. Unless, of course, they have...

    Power, Memory and Schematics

You shouldn't try to badger good people into doing things your way like this. For shame. They are being more than fair with the licensing. If it doesn't match your personal definition of open hardware, it doesn't. It does mine. A preorder is just that, a preorder for the device. It's not a...

    Comprehensive Status update!

Just a quick question: how many FPS do you consider a playable framerate for the games you intend to play? Also note that when bottlenecked by CPU, it's not just jerky graphics, but also slower all-round operation you'll be getting. Even for turn based games, there's a point where playing at...

If a default choice is set, which desktop environment the Pyra OS should have ?

Well, there are many alternatives that may be subjectively better. What do you think is missing that no DE/WM+stuff combination satisfies? Or are you after something "just like XFCE, but somehow better"?
