Or two weeks? or two month? No, just kidding. Big news is around the corner.

    Finalizing the PCBs

I wonder why everyone is making super unrealistic predictions. Maybe because there is no project plan? Just think about how many tasks are open. Assembly, Certification, Manual, etc. So end of 2018 is more realistic in my opinion. (but before R.I.P)

    Finalizing the PCBs

There is no convection, the radiation at this temperature is minimal as described in stefan-boltzmann law and the surounding plastic has a high thermal resistance. So, this copper block is not an heatsink. Its acts like a thermal capacitor. Once it is charged, it has no cooling effect.

    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

This is the problem with most of the guys here. You don't know anything. I am following this board and its predecessor since 2007. I have an old account that i am no longer using. (lost password and email) No, i am not DerJochen. Don't get me wrong. A LOT of work has be done in the past 6...

One month, no real progress. R.I.P. Pyra

    Let's move the moulds!

No, we don't do so. The wavelength is approx. 56 cm wheres the trace lenth is only a few centimeters and i am pretty sure whoever made the layout followed the design guidlines. Everything else would be damn stupid. A copperwire would decrease resistance cauased by either skin effect or trace...

    Let's move the moulds!

It is already proofen that this theory is wrong. hns soldered in additional wires to reduce resistance with no effect.

    Let's move the moulds!

27 people ordered a 2GB version, 1064 ordered a 4GB version. You have to find at least 500 who are willing to downgrade to 2GB. I dont belive that you will find them. Otherwise you would have other numbers from the preorderers. Second, if you have 500 together, what about the people with a low...

    Let's move the moulds!

Again a useless 2GB / 4GB discussion. It doesn't matter what you want in this thread. It is no option to go with 2GB.

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

    Rough comparison: U54-MC RISC = 4 * 1.7 DMIPS/MHz vs. Cortex-A15 = 2 * 3.5 DMIPS/MHz

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

The new SoC has also to be nearly pin compatible, feature compatible, suitable for mobile device in therms of power consumtion, power dissipation, mechanical dimensions. And the most important, it has to be significant better than the old one. This is the reason why nobody can name a replacement...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Ok, so what is your estimation for a bugfree prototype and the shipment of the final product?

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Yes, for me this is realy good news. The problem has to be exactly located now. Then the pcb has to be reworked and new pcbs have to be produced and tested. If everything goes well, this will only take 6 month. With series production we can have a pyra in only 1 year from now.

    The tale of the cases

Interesting, that you exactly know what my profession is. It goes along with all the prejudice about people from Greek. Without a layout, a BOM, all datasheets and the information what is assembled, the only thing i can do is guess. And thats not my style. Also interesting, that i get...

    The tale of the cases

The RAM chip works from 1.28V to 1.45V under all specified circumstances. So your voltage drop has to be around 110mV. And this has to be on every motherboard. Your calculator must be broken. For me it gives 80mOhms. With 110mV it gives us 220mOhms. And with the fakt, that the chip only...

    The tale of the cases

The same voltage drop that prevent the CPU from running with high clockrate? And where it turned out that it was a wrong setting? Voltage drop for pcb traces that are only a few millimeters long is COMPLETE BS! If i read the mailing list, i am now 99% sure that you have no clue what causes this...

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Yes a lot of people and things are responsible. Greece company, RAM modules that wont work, keymats, everyone else and at least the chinese new year.

    Analyzing 4GB RAM

Stunning, how some people here try to convince other about how many GB RAM they need. Yes, please all of you 1095 preorderers, write a PM to ED about how many RAM you want.
