It reminds me of the Pandora!

How many units have been assembled so far? How many units can you assemble until you get exhausted and bored? What is the time you need to check the payment, comission the parts, assemble the pyra, flash the software, test the unit, package and finaly ship? The pure assembly time is one thing...

    A case of polls!

Assemble the pyra by ED and some minions is so 2011 and lead to the following:

Pyra news partially stale from the dragon's mouth

Don't worry, 500 should be enough to satisfy all preorderers.

So, what's the current status of everything?

Good argument. Zwerg01 has no clue. Maybe one thing to remember, when i said, that AC-Noise is the reason for the 4GB-version crashes is big humbug. Since i didn't and don't have access to all documentation there was nothing more i can do. It cost one year of development and a lot of money to...

So, what's the current status of everything?

At this point it is very important to get a somehow stable operating system and this is what they are doing right now. The software should be ready ages ago, but thats another topic. There is no excuse that the software is delaying the project. Anyways, how it is done is not very effective...

So, what's the current status of everything?

Current status is, that ED shipped 8 Pyras and now he has a sh*tload of work to get them all up and running. Unfortunatly most of the prepreorderers are no devs so they need a babysitter.

We need more drama. So here's another video.

    Close lid + Space = Ouch! :)

We need more drama. So here's another video.

The following conversation happend two and a half years ago. And now it comes out, a test revealed, that the plate is not working. Two and a half year time to make a proper plate. Two and a half year to think about a solution. No, now we have to figure out, how we can make a plate. Order a...

A video. Again. Mostly about cases.

So, the final price tag is already anounced? In my opinion this was the price for a 2 year development time. I am wondering what happend to the optimism here in this forum. No one said "christmas" in this thread so far.

Even more to see here (now)

No one needs a replaceble battery any more. Cell chemestry has gotten better over the past few years. Also the battery management has improved and the battery failure rate has decreased over the years. I say 90% of the people use their laptop 3 to 5 years (Smartphones 2 to 3 years) and only a...

Even more to see here (now)

Can someone provide a short status update, please? Is the case finished? And if yes, why is there no mass production?

Not much text here. Just a video.

I had a look on the init-hwtest-script and for me, it seems to probe the hardware, and not to test. The output should be "probing gyro... found" and not "testing gyro ... passed". To the screw discussion. A real retro device needs slot drive screws.

    Case closed?

Happy anniversary! Two Three years of preordering! But only two more month! And then we are there.

Some personal stuff - and prototypes building!

Only 1600 times slower than metal why i would call "plastic" a thermal isolator. But the copper block isnt attached to the case properly. There are air gaps between. And air is even worse in conducting thermal energie. This copper block acts only as a thermal capacitor with a very small...

Some personal stuff - and prototypes building!

A thermal block of copper would be the best choice. It will take approx. 30 sec to warm it up from 20°C to 75°C. (6W dissipation, 0,864 cm³ of copper) under optimal conditions, such as very low thermal resistance of the copper tape. The time for booting the device, i guess. The additional copper...

    Wrapping everything up!

Here's a summary of what's left to do: Finish the tests of the mainboards and order them (PCB production takes 4 weeks) Check if the CPU boards can be further improved and if not, order prototypes for them (PCB production takes 6 weeks). Check that the cases are fine and if they are, order...

So there will be less progress in December? Mailing list seems also to be quite.
