Games that you HAD TO finish at some point

HOLY MOLY! Did you really just say the journal of Morrowind was useful to you!? It's the biggest mess of a quest journal I've ever seen in a game, you can't even find the pages that reference the main quest. That was, as a kid, my problem with the game, I got so immersed that I didn't even know...

GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

That comparison is a bit unfair: Most of the Windows games that use 20GB+ of storage are Triple A games post 2010. These will probably never run on the WIN, no matter if you have the storage or not. But generally I agree, software on Windows rarely references third-party libraries to safe...

Games that you HAD TO finish at some point

For me, there were 2 games that stick out: Zelda: A Link to the Past and Morrowind. I LOVED both of them as a kid and still like them a lot, but I never finished them until I grew up, eventhough I always wanted to. I got 100% in A Link to the Past last year and finally finished Morrowind a few...

A few Colors and Packages (with a poll!)

I was actually excited to use this port :( While USB doesn't officially support >2A, it's easy to get even 3A power supplies. And I agree, 2A already seems a lot and I, too, hope idle draw is much lower. There was a video by Trashy a while ago about the energy draw of the devboard (the display...

    Gaming Visor - VR helmet

While I generally trust Petro Tyschtschenko (I mean, he signed ED's Pandora and all) and I like openness with VR headsets a lot better than facebook on it, I think the market is getting saturated. The Oculus Rift was only this successfull because it was the first one that actually looked any...

A few Colors and Packages (with a poll!)

Actually, one of them still is a combo port: The blue one which looks like a USB 3.0 port can't support USB 3.0 with the current SoC, the OMAP5432. Instead, the extra lines the port has are used to give eSATA capabilities, but because USB 2.0/eSATA combo ports are not produced anymore, this had...

    Moxie passed away

Moxie was not a person I came into great contact with, but when I was still a lurker on this forum, his posts were some of the most interesting and insightful to read. It's a damn shame how many great people die way too young by cancer, and eventhough I knew about his struggle with it, I never...

    Colorful week

Am I this bad with irony? I think I'm gonna take a break from these forums for a few days, I have to get some time to process the fact that I may have restarted the keyboard discussion*. *In case you were involved in that discussion and have contributed to the final layout, I salute you. Fine...

    Colorful week

Okay, now that we are done with this topic and the Grench-bashing which got a little out of hand at the end, we can get back to more important things, like: - Which colour is the best? - Are we all okay with the keyboard layout? Are we really? My god, this thread got burned to the ground...

    Colorful week

@TrashyMG Could you list the video in your YouTube account? I wanted to link it 2 pages ago for reference, but couldn't find it on your account as you unlisted it. This could make future discussions a bit easier.

    Colorful week

I think the overlap is much higher and, as I said before, there still are a lot of other things like fine-tuning the cases and waiting for new ones to arrive in Ingolstadt for testing going on that demand a lot of waiting. While ED somehow gets his schedule always filled up, I'd be surprised if...

    The Ballad of Modern Devices

With my Galaxy Note 2, it was really easy to flash CM10.1. To get good support of custom ROMs, you sadly have to have a well-known phone with many users, so the amount of amateur developers for it is higher. I'm personally really sad about this whole situation, Android may be a open-source...

    Colorful week

Where do you get your numbers from? ED already stated that there's the possibility to get 2 2GB chips instead of 4 1GB ones, and the "good 2-4 months or more of delay" is simply ridiculous and you know it. With all of the parallel tasks going on in development and mandatory waiting times for...

[Roadmap] Using the Cortex M4 CPUs

IIRC, Android is still a fork, but a few of its additions were implemented in the Linux Kernel. But according to my very limited knowledge about this and this website about the Linux Kernel it probably won't run without a Memory Management Unit which the M4 probably doesn't have, which is why...

    Pyra debian with systemd?

Sorry to crush your hopes. It won't, or at least not primarily. Edit: But the .dbp system is good, too.

Pyra Release date - Make your Guess here.

No. NO! I hate December 6th! So I'll guess optimisticly it's gonna be December 5th 2016 - my hope is that it'll be released before Christmas 2016, so anything before December 23rd 2016 would already make me happy. As long as it isn't December 6th. My official date for the non-existing raffle...

    Appimage instead of pnd?

*I thought AppImage was a closed source program from just seeing the binary downloads. Sorry about that, I somehow thought it had to be requested to be used (just seeing a "Try this" button apparently makes me think this way). So, yes, the fact it's an alternative to the DBP system which is also...

    Appimage instead of pnd?

Why is it an "interesting discussion" if everything is mentioned in the one by slaeshjag already? The AppImage software has already been dismissed, so what's there to still discuss? Everything you seem to do is to split the slaeshjag thread for no apparent reason. (Sorry for linking it a third...

    Appimage instead of pnd?

AppImages seems definitly like an interesting product, but not for the Pyra. There we already have the .dbp system which works great for what is actually wanted and needed on this system. Isn't that how you could summarise this whole thread if you provided a link to the .dbp spec sheet to show...

Gole1 - Interesting Cherry Trail device?

The Atom itself is not dead, but the research is for financial reasons. And it also cut into Intel's lower middle class CPUs. So in a couple of years, we probably won't see any new Atom devices except for very low-cost ones as this, but for now it's still kicking.
