    How do you pronounce GIF?

Hard Gif. There are many logical reason to do so, but my actual reason is just coming from German. Nobody would look at "Gif" in the middle of German text and get the idea to say something along the lines of Jif. Pyra is actually pronounced "Pizza", guys. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Regarding Steam, wouldn't SteamCMD be an easier target for now? Though I don't mind you trying to get the full client to run of course. That being said, while SteamCMD certainly has account login and the app_run command, I'm not 100% sure if you can properly run games that require Steamworks...

    Google Stadia

I wouldn't want to ever stream games this way, even though I happen to blessed by passable internet speeds since recently. These streaming madmen (not Google though, I think) even talk about doing this stuff for VR, while actual manufacturers use 60 GHz Wifi for their wireless solutions and even...

    Life of SDcard

Been using a fairly cheap Transcent SD card in my Pandora since 2011 and it's still working fine. FAT32 formatted, though. May not be the norm, but the cards probably won't die as fast as you think. With the OS running from internal memory there will probably also a bit less writes going...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Indeed it does. It also plays very well. The game is not CPU intensive and is rather held down by the GPU. Thanks to that, the actual resulting maximum frame rate is identical to the native version. Neat. Performance in numbers, though be warned these are neither 100% accurate nor properly...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

It officially doesn't exist since I thought barely anyone would be running an x86 32-bit Linux nowadays (not like it's a big deal making that build, actually). I've attached the build I made for trying out in Box86. It's fully optimized and stripped though, so say if you need debugging symbols...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Getting further with Benri and the Bandits (typo in the commit, but not that it matters) now. But not a lot. Zero missing symbols though! With BOX86_LOG=2: 3192|0x8171e1e: Calling my2_SDL_RWFromMem (/media/SD_PANDORA/box86-master/build/box86) (082898A0, 0000007A, 082C0B48...) => return...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

I also tried to run a bunch of things I grabbed from my Humble Bundle library. NightSkyHD surprised me by starting and showing the title screen. I'm not sure if I got impatient there or it got stuck though. There was no input prompt and nothing could be done there. A bunch games with bin files...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

Nothing? Alright, pushed that version to the repo for now. If there's anything else coming up though, just notify me. There's no RPG functionality nor is there much of anime aside the portraits and perhaps names, but I hope you can get some enjoyment out of it regardless.

    Release Benri and the Bandits

That's great then. Finally. Thanks for testing all these attempts. I'll wait another day or so before pushing this to the repo in case other issues arise. I especially don't trust the powervr.ini tweaks against random freezes I had to remove to make it start on non-CC units. Though these...

Brief Answers to the Big (Pyra) Questions

No, the 3D printed one looked way worse than this and was a lighter gray. This is one of the earlier colored prototype cases. The port still looks the same on the black prototype case they had at Gamescom 2018, if you're wondering about that. Here's a photo I took of that case...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

The journey continues. Not worth the game this is about, but this will make the following releases a bit smoother I hope (I have some stuff planned if everything goes well). Your list looks long, but actually most of these are just symlinks to the library installed on the nand (checked every lib...

F(x) Technology Android phone with a slide-out keyboard

I really want a phone with a keyboard again, but I'm a landscape slider guy. Not a fan of blackberry style portrait keyboard nor did I really like the handling of the Gemini when I tried it out. Those option don't really go much cheaper either way. Nothing in the full announcement is a...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

Started with a clean slate as well now. Put a fresh OS onto an SD card and went from there. There was another missing lib at first, but otherwise I played through the entire game just fine. If there was a different version of that lib in the NAND while still having the same name...

What are you going to do when you first get your Pyra

iirc Discord has some native libraries for the overlay and stuff. Using the web version is probably easier. Perhaps wrap up it to be its own app and you got nearly the same experience.

    Release Benri and the Bandits

Something seems off here. The game shouldn't spam stdout that much in the release build. Not that it's sensitive info, but I thought I disabled that. The double free detection is also during printing the game object name... which is odd. No free or delete is happening there, at least not by me...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

Hm... what Pandora model and SGX driver version is this on? Other stuff using OpenGLES is working on your device, I assume? This obviously shouldn't be happening, but SDL doesn't really deliver any specific error when the 3D driver refuses to do its thing here. The only thing that comes to mind...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

Looks like my attempts at cutting down the PND size backfired, I suppose. I've reuploaded the PND with libpulse included, but I wouldn't be able to tell you how it ended up in on my NAND... could've been the codec pack thinking about it, but it's not my intention to require that of course. Hope...

    Release Benri and the Bandits

I've released a little game for the Pandora. It's a short action adventure kind of game which was created for a contest in a German RPG Maker community. While it does borrow some graphics and the art style from those kind of games, it is running on a custom engine. It has a comedic touch, but...

What dit you use your Pandora/Pyra today/the last few days

Still porting my game to it. Had to deal with complete SGX driver freezes, but managed to get rid of them thanks to the information floating around in this forum. Will release soon, I suppose. Still have other platforms to take care of, but been through most a few times, so I don't expect any...
