So the cost of "colossal scale piracy" for Nintendo is $2.4M? They got it better than Gary Bowser Anyway, another case of "Felony contempt of business model", but it shows some interesting points: Nintendo didn't attack on the TPM/DRM circumventing only but also used the facts that the...

https://play.half.earth : At the head of the planification of an international socialist government, try to solve the polycrisis. Even though it's dressed up as a socialist initiative, it still offers some approaches that I wouldn't call "socialist". In any case, it's an interesting way to learn...

    dreamcast.

The PS2 had a very special architecture with many processors and units working in parallel, so it's more complex to emulate than the Dreamcast. It's also more powerful than the Dreamcast. The Gamecube architecture was simpler and closer to the Dreamcast but the hardware was far more powerful.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

I got KeeperFX to run on the Pandora with Box86 + wine. It was playable, maybe not full speed but good enough for early levels. The base game is fun but from the "tactical" point of view it's pretty basic except for a few missions. There are a few secret levels with interesting twists and I...

I've never been able to go very far into Majora's Mask because of this.

Help me making a to play list

For some older games, I recommend looking for patches on romhacking.net, they can make the experience better and less frustrating (Zelda 1 is great but isn't made any better by having you spend a lot of time trying to bomb every wall and burn every tree to find the secrets). Series: - Mario -...

I could give it a try, but I don't know when I'll have time to do so.

Oooh, do you think you could port it to the Pandora?

    The Communication Cube

If I remember correctly, the number of birds killed by cats is a very rough estimate (something like taking the number of cats in the country, estimating the percentage that goes outside and multiplying this by an estimate of how many birds a single cat kills in average). The real problem with...

    The Communication Cube

First of all, the number of Turkish parents in Germany is far lower than the number of German parents so even if there's a slightly higher average of number of children per women, it's negligible in the big picture. Second, these children will be raised in a mixed culture. Most of them will go...

Perfect Dark finally gets the full-featured PC port it deserves

Could be a nice port to the Pandora. :)

This is bullshit. There are absolutely no evidence of this ever happening. There are no studies that support this. There are plenty that debunk it. The only people spreading this are politicians or demagogues who have no other arguments that "it's common sense" or "trust me". Every time, it's...

Most people don't care about the difference betwen GNU and Linux. They just need a word to talk about that OS that isn't Windows and Linux is more commonly used, it's simple and sounds good. I think that many people would consider saying "GNU Linux" being just like saying "Microsoft Windows" and...

    Absurdism corner

You can see it as a hack. Some birds use the color of their beak to signal their fitness. Birds with beak of intense color will tend to have a higher social status and/or mating chances. If you paint the beak of one of these birds with a vibrant orange paint, the other birds will be very...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Yes you'll need the (x86) libs required by pico8 in a path set in the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable or in the same directory as the pico8 executable. Some libs can be found in the Codeblocks pnd (I don't remember where exactly), others you'll have to get from some linux distribution.

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

Make sure to use the beta version of the Code Blocks PND : https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/ptitsebs-beta-lair.77439/ You then start the command line, move to the directory where you want to store the box86 project and type: git clone https://github.com/ptitSeb/box86 cd box86 mkdir...

    Box86 - Linux Userspace x86 Emulator

It's not hard to compile, you can do it with the beta Code Blocks PND and a few command lines. I was able to run a linux version of Pico-8 but I haven't tried with the last one.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

The original castlevania game wasn't a "metroidvania" (arguably "Vampire Killer" on MSX could be considered as one but it's too obscure to be a reference), neither was the third. The second could arguably be considered as one but they only went in that direction from Symphony of the Night on...
