You are my hero!
You have the guts to get a 700€ device (mostly irreplaceable at this moment) then start hacking the case, the heatsink and just don't mind burning a critical component on the the board.
P.S.
Your Pyra doesn't have a wonky chip anymore. That makes it a super exclusive edition?
Hi, I'm struggling with this without any success. I expect the GPD win to be able to run dreamcast pretty well. But the flycast core in retroarch is too slow and reicast installed as a snap crashes with error:
reicast: pcm.c:1250: snd_pcm_writei: Assertion `pcm' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)...
These are the things I love about the project. I remember breaking the LCD coil on pandora, checking the original one a list like this one with same parameters physical format.
I also feel very frustrated. In fact I ordered a screen and will try to fix my gpd win. I'm in the next batch and waiting is becoming unbearable.
Even getting a Pyra won't fulfill my needs, emulators, browser, video playing ... Seems in a very early status for my use case.
Anyhow I wish the...
Sooooo .... Related question: how well does handbrake works on Pyra?
Is the tool I use to transcode videos for pandora. I do it on my server but would be great having the tool on the go.
Does anyone know if double resolution option works with this version?
And what about the opengl plugin. It was too buggy (blame the 3d driver) in pandora to be usable. I would love having nicer psx graphics in Pyra.
I checked in pandora and just inside pcsx_rearmed folder (in appdata) is another folder called bios with file scph1001.bin.
I guess it will be the same on pyra.
Exactly, this was explained at some pcsx-rearmed release. I don't remember (neither understand) the details but it can run without the bios file. It was explained also that bios is recommended or you will get all kind of problems.
You don't need to go anywhere. Keep reading about synaptic and apt (the cli tool for software), you will see how easy and convenient is installing software in debian.
Thanks Wally. I cannot test to confirm my thoughts but if anyone cares:
Why Z and L are different keys? I remember mapping them to the same button because they cannot be used at the same time in the N64 gamepad.
Is it comfortable usingthe analog as c buttons? We already have 6 face...
I think I finished my last game in Pandora. Vandal Hearts 2 if you are wondering.
My Pyra will be in the next batch (next week maybe?) and since I don't know which emulators/games work well in Pyra at this point, I think I will wait for it before starting a new game.
Therefor on its last days...
