My first impressions of the Pyra

Is really worth the effort? I wish to be wrong but I expect the same problems again.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

Thanks for telling. Are you enabling the double resolution option in drastic? Can't wait to try ds emulation once I get my Pyra.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

The first post of the thread is updated. Right now everyone below 50 should get the email.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

It is even worse. I had number 73 in my mind, but I got my dummy PCB from my parent's home it turns out I'm number 78.

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I guess "next batch zombie" is the new "news zombie". I also would appreciate information about next batch. I may seem anxious, and it is because I'm anxious. Mine should be on the third shipment (if we keep with 25 units blocks) and expectation is unbearable at this point.

Congratulations and thanks for your review. I'm specially dissapointed about wifi and touchscreen. It seems hardware problem.

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

Almost never used android on PND for Pandora. I agree this time with GPS, multitouch screen, CPU, and others, a version of android for Pyra looks much more attractive. I prefer the DBP approach again instead of booting into it.

    Just a quick heads up

Ah yes, I was in the same boat. Luckily my GP2X kept working until I got the Pandora. Just retrieved the GP2X from my parent's home. It is not working after years stored, but I want to fix it if I have time.

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

I didn't thought about it, but indeed, Code::Blocks will help porting/developing anything else to Pyra.

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

I'm not getting any email from ED, and wanted to raise the question to keep me entertained. I'm asking obviously about things that we won't find in Debian ARM repo and we need someone to port or adapt it to Pyra. My point of view is that regarding productivity, all I need will be there on the...

    Just a quick heads up

I'm number 73 and having a mini-heart attack every time I get an email notification.

What are you playing this weekend/these days?

Excuse me?!!!!! Can you elaborate, please? Do you have a prototype or got a Pyra through a pact with the devil or something.

    Just a quick heads up

I prefer to be skeptic until I get a payment email.

    Just a quick heads up

No, there is a group of 200 that preordered earlier (usually we refer them as pre-preorders). I expect that their (well, including me) shipments will have preference over regular preorders. Also ED said that batches are 500 units each one. I'm speculating here, but there may be delays between...

    Cloud gaming services in Pyra?

Never been much interested in these services but just found this article in reddit: https://boilingsteam.com/cloud-gaming-services-explained-and-tested-on-linux/ And wondered if they may work in Pyra. Some of them only need a chromium based browser and a regular gamepad. Is there any...

It reminds me of the Pandora!

I'm a complete ignorant on these things but it may be that 3G/4G modem is able to do a wake-on-lan kind of thing? Will be Pyra capable of something similar?

Linux on GPD Win 1. Where to begin?

Thanks. My GPD win is stored with screen broken, but I take note of this in case I am able to fix it at some point.

What is your Reason you want this Thing?

No offense, but this made me smile. Clearly if you need an urgent replacement Pyra is not the right choice. Unless urgent means "two months" for you.

What is your Reason you want this Thing?

1- Linux support. NOT linux compatiblity, but support, knowing that everything from wifi to sleep mode to special keys will work and keep working on every update without any tinkering on my side. Used linux for many years in my laptops and nothing comes close to the user experience I had with...
