Repo rating system: 5 stars or binary ratings?

Could we default to a different average, one that eliminates votes which vary heavily from the norm? So if an app has 10 lots of 4/5* star rating and a single 1*, the 1* is ignored (could have an option to view average with this included). If the number of 1* ratings increases it could be...

Repo rating system: 5 stars or binary ratings?

I think we should be able to rate on peoples ratings, so the stupid 1 star ratings we can all rate 1 star so they end up worthless! More seriously, incredible amounts of thanks to you ptitSeb, so many people are constantly astounded by not only the amount of release you make, but the care and...

Let's think about a killer game...

Greyout is probably my favourite original IP on Pandora, played to completion (which I don't do with many games). I have always been saddened that Rainy Day never went anywhere, also wasn't there a cool looking pirate game screenshots (maybe even early demo) touted a long time ago which looked...

Let's think about a killer game...

I think we should stop making excuses, pull together 500 million USD, and make something that competes with Destiny, only aimed specifically for the Pyra hardware and install base. Until the funds have been pulled together, we can reflect on some of the cool stuff that has been brought to...

What will you use your Pyra for?

That made me chuckle! :) Probably one the best explanations so far..!

What will you use your Pyra for?

For reference, what I had to do to fix my slow Ubuntu VM: $ /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p Not software rendered: no Not blacklisted: yes GLX fbconfig: yes GLX texture from pixmap: yes GL npot or rect textures: yes GL vertex program: yes GL fragment program...

What will you use your Pyra for?

When I tried using Linux fulltime, a long time ago, it was much harder to use, and for all intense and purpose, broke. Lots had changed since then, however last year I installed Ubuntu in a VM specifically for Pandora/Linux development, it ran really bad, to fix that I had to issue a loss of...

What will you use your Pyra for?

@pmprog Completely agree; it seems like Linux is okay if you want to install some distribution that includes a load of stuff, and you just use that stuff, or other pretty standard packages, and if you have hardware that plays ball nicely. Linux is also okay if you love diving into text files and...

The Big Open Pandora Community Survey, 2014

In a weird way it is cool that crazy corners of the internet like this exist.

Emulator brings x86 Linux apps to ARM devices

That sounds suspiciously like the sort of problem you might have the itch to solve (although I kind of hope not as some of your other projects are more exciting!).

    Port Requests

ptitSeb, does the profiler differentiate between a thread being awake and a sleep? If threads are waiting for the GPU they can just be sleeping, so if the profiler is counting that as 'active' time, it'll appear as kernel activity (probably). Can't really see from your screenshot what is going...

    Headphone adapter

Okay, so the cable works, no complaints at the moment! Also just received a Samsung EVO 64 SDXC card, hoping it'll work in the Pandora (I recall some talks about whether SDXC works or not, but can't remember the conclusion) will try tonight and find out.

Flappy Bird: What I Did for the Pandora Version

glshim allows full Open GL calls to work (even though the driver supports only GL ES), so you can either use glshim + OpenGL calls, or just go with OpenGL ES (which the driver supports) and you don't need glshim. If PyGame already supports GL, you'd need to check whether it is ES or full GL and...

    Headphone adapter

Well it arrived today, the cable is like 1 inch long, and I preferred that to no cable (as it would put more strain on the headphone port otherwise). I am at work now so can't test it, but will when I get home. Interestingly (well, actually not that interesting) the order was due to be...

    The big Pyra keyboard poll

@wb: nope, my suggestion wasn't that the keyboard isn't used, if you reread what I said, my suggestion was merely that the buttons should be labeled with their gaming letter ABXY larger than their textual PgUp/PgDown function (currently it is reversed). I suggested that the gaming functionality...

    Pyra Website Design Ideas

I'd personally rather ED had time for his current tasks, instead of spending time attempting to switch to different versions of software (especially if the current software has decent support etc.) The Pandora can run open, closed, free and paid for software, and the tools, environment...

    Release MotoGT

If not 'proper' texture compression, from the screenshot something like RGB565 looks like it might work reasonably (or RGBA4444 if there is alpha on overlay layers).

    The big Pyra keyboard poll

So, most downloaded, according to the repo: Firefox 31.0 DraStic PPSSPP PCSX ReARMed Mupen64plus v2.1 PNDManager UAE4ALL Snes9x4P PicoDrive DosBox EX + Games Downloader So, from that, Firefox maybe some amount of keyboard, how much is hard to tell, but certainly it would be fair to...

    The big Pyra keyboard poll

My belief is based on reading the forums and having a "feel" for how much Pandora activity is games vs apps. Perhaps I could just look at the ten most downloads apps on the repo and see if they are predominantly game controls of keyboard typing? Not perfect perhaps but I can't think of anything...
