    Open... and close... and open...

The videos posted from @Bernd really make sense. As the noise is only generated when using an USB device, it could be any capacitor(C601-C607) connected to the TPS2505RGW(U602) USB-Boost converter. If you use an USB device that needs more power, the noise is maybe louder. I think it should be...

I have ordered stuff on banggood very often, never had a problem. Some stuff they also have on their UK warehouse. Delivery to austria always takes up to 4 weeks.

    Download Pyra Debian OS (WIP)

So, how did you get it working? on my computer i used these commands to copy the files on the ext2-formatted SD: sudo tar -xf pyra-debian-stretch-mate-rootfs.tgz -C /media/andi/df8514a1-a483-44f2-8225-969fb36b80a6/ sudo tar -xf pyra-rootfs-pnd.tgz -C...

    Keep cool!

Steam has support for Ubuntu, so if we get Ubuntu working on the Pyra, the Steam guys have to look that Steam will run on the Pyra. They just need to recompile all the games for ARM and switch to OpenGLES, nothing else :P

    It's all white!

Where did you get a AT command list? I don't find anything on the gemalto website. This command is normally used to log into femto cells, so i'm not sure if its possible to log into official masts with it. I was thinking about buying a PLS8 modem to play with, but it costs 200€ :/

    It's all white!

you mean one specific radio mast? I finally found a better documentation about the modem ftp://ftp.matrix.es/mtxm2m/Modems%20M2M/MTX-LTE-PLS8-R2/MTX-LTE-PLS8-R2%20AT%20Command%20Set%20Manual.pdf Maybe this could work with the AT^SNCSGSC command.

    It's all white!

Really? How does a phone handle this? The advantage is, its working automatically immediately when the modem is switched on, without internet and gps. Also it recognizes the timezone change on travelling.

    It's all white!

AT+CCLK? Edit: checked the modem documentation. On this modem, this command returns the value from the internal RTC. Not sure if its possible to get the time from the tower, as the document doesnt include the CTZU AT-command. Edit2: the document i...

Are the 4G modem specs final ? (France: My operator uses 700/1800/2600)

The modem is fixed on the mainboard, so its not very easy to upgrade it like the cpu board. The easiest solution for using mobile data is bluetooth tethering (doesnt use much power of your phone)

    Playing with Play-Doh

Great, it really seems we will have finished Pyras this year :) How many devs are there and is it needed to register as a dev anywhere? I am just developing a phone software, not sure if the phone capability is important to work on the first shipments of the Pyra. Actually i have an working...

    That took a while...

Yeah! So we will see a video of a fully assembled final version of the pyra today?
  15. AndiTheBest

What would you like to see?

I think he got the cases, assembled some pyras and now plays all the time, so now time for a newspost :(

Update regarding the cases (and some other things)

A year or two ago i saw the red update of the pandora on the website and fell in love. So a dark red case would be relly nice. For a min of 100 at 1050 preoders, it should be possible to offer 4-6 colors 250 black 250 grey 200 clear 150 red 100 green? 100 white? Or something like this. Time...

    Pyra LTE in Australia Discussion

Did you already check the wiki entry? https://pyra-handheld.com/wiki/index.php?title=Modem In gereral: lower frequency = higher distance + lower data rate per bandwidth. But the data rate always depends on how many people are using it at the same time.
