Yeah I've bought European Dreamcast games bran new still in shrink wrap and when I open them a small pice of plastic falls out. You would think after the disastrous design that was the European Saturn game cases that Sega of Europe would play it safe, but nope xD
I've followed their youtube channel for a while now, haven't gotten any updates so I thought they had given up. But apparently not. Apparently the 70,000 stretch goal is needed to release the engine, I wish they would do that no matter what but maybe they just can't :P Impressive seeing such 3D...
I've always wondered why no one has suggested to call it FreeSource? Or maybe there is no satisfying the "FreeSoftware vs OpenSource" debate when it comes to names.
I was thinking before of getting one of these https://system76.com/desktops/meerkat
Until i realized the Pyra could do the same and be portable. Didn't really mind it being ARM instead of x86.
So many tiny desktop devices coming out trying to take a piece of the Pi (I'm terrible I know)
Speaking of misleading terms like the 1.2GHz problem. Isn't the term CPU-board misleading? It had the entire SoC on it if I'm correct. Should really be called the SoC-board.
I've looked at the GeChic onces, they are really slim and portable and I love that. Will have a second look at them when I get my Pyra.
The GAEMS one looks good for gaming but a bit more bulky, I could see how others may like it, if they want it for a specificity location like a car or something...
Thanks, but that one doesn't have an HDMI input but instead uses USB for video. I don't want to give up one of the Pyra's USBs when the device has a micro-HDMI.
That looks really sweet, something really portable like that, or like a tablet slim display. But it's still a kickstarter project. They usually take their sweet time with things. I kinda want to buy a portable display now so I have one ready for when the Pyra comes (hoping for a February 2017)...
So has there been anymore development on this topic? I'm am looking into to getting a easy to take with me screen that I can hook the Pyra up to when I get it.
I found that the onces for Raspberry pi looks pretty nice https://www.sunfounder.com/10-1-inch-hdmi-lcd.html
however the stand don't...
Good videos overall, did find one point a bit misleading, about emulation. If the Pyra will be able to emulate ps2 and gamecube is still up to debate. The GameCube and PS2 may be outdated by todays standards but they used pretty complex hardware with customs chips and would be much harder to...
Well I always had the position that I rather wait for a good quality unit instead of a rushed one. So take your time, also take a nap when you need it ;)
No keyboard is what kills it for me, but I do like that we are short of seeing a very small return of UMPC's with devices like the Pyra, GPD Win and now this. Also I think there where one called the minotaur one.
