The goal they have is pretty heavy, but maybe that is normal now? I do have faith in Purism will deliver but not that they will get that much in crowd funding.
You can use Pidgin to connect to discord via chat https://github.com/EionRobb/purple-discord It's text chat only but good if you don't want to run Discord on your system.
using the software QJoyPad you can set the nubs in joystick mode and the map buttons to them like the Dpad. I think there is a compiled version for the Pandora on the repo. I remember doing it when I had my Pandora. This should be possible for the Pyra too if someone ports it or if it is already...
I don't mind a slow boot time (I don't even think it's that slow) as long as I can keep it running for a while with minimum reboot it's not a problem. And knowing how little I have to restart my Debian PC I'm not the least bit worried.
Fantastic! They look great on the picture, can't wait to see what some of the devs do when they get their hands on them. When will we be able to pay the rest of what's left after the down-payment?
Who owns these binary-blobs? Maybe it would be possible for the license to change them to a GPL-compatible license.
If an image of the Pyra version of Debian (or a port of the approved GNU/Linux distros from gnu.org) can be made with the Linux-Libre kernal I think it would be great just on...
I would like grey colour. But black works too, especially if I can buy other colors later (maybe even mix and match for my own colour scheme) As long as I am not getting a transparent one I'm fine. For me they look horrible and toyishly cheap :P taste in design is subjective I guess.
Hoping the 4GB issue get's solved. 4GB is about what I use on my desktop when doing casual computer work. So anything below that would be a bit of a disappointment for me. I wouldn't cancel tho but I could see why some would tbh.
Oh I had that one, It broke when I tried to take the phone out of the case on the same day I got it. Still used it for a while. Even garbage qwerty keyboards are better then touch once. I miss them so much.
Well how much do those cabels cost compared to the Pyra once? And are they easy to source in Europe or do they need to be ordered from China? The Pyra is being developed on a limited budget and if a new design LCD cable that is both cheaper and more reliable compared to similar designs can be...
What is left anyways? The software, the eMMC issue and the keymat right? Or am I missing something? Feels really close now but I've had that feeling for a while now :P
While the Pandora and xfce was my first experience with Linux, Ubuntu 12.04 with Unity was my first experience installing linux and using it on my own computer, so for me it's a bit sad seeing Unity go, but I don't use it at all anymore because of how slow and stale it is. Hope it still get's...
The only device I have that is running a PowerVR GPU is my Dreamcast (I guess the Pyra will join that soon however) :P If Apple did this out of the blue it is indeed a "dick move" they should have maybe warned imagination some time before pulling out.
