    A case for the pyra.

As for the pelikan case and the Pyra/ Pandora rattling in it: There is a foam, which is millable. I used some of that for tools. You just put the toll on top of the foam us a paintmarker to draw the outline and then use the right milling tool and a router adjusted to the fitting depth. The...

    Case closed?

Wow this is great news! Especially the day after I came back from hospital, to cheer me bit up. And perfect timing: I looked into the forum 17min after ED posted it. Nice one!

    Which Hardware Licence?

Oh, you misunderstood Askarus. I'm about to build something compleetly different (it is not even electronics) and was just looking, if I can adapet the license practice. So my product should be like "don't copy and ruin my business but feel free to build your own non commercial one"

    Which Hardware Licence?

Thanks. Is there any information, if that will work for the construction data of the case, too? Let's say: Ed releases the 3D data for the case under the same license. Would it still be prohibit someone else to make identical cases?

    Which Hardware Licence?

I know we had that somewhere already, but I -can't find it -don't know to which extent. I do know it was ment to allow any non commercial use in any case, but commercial use only with license-fee/ only with permission. Does anybody know, which license it will be? (CC or something else?)

    Just a bunch of pics

As soon as I get hands on the logo Plate I can look into making som precious metal ones (Silver, Gold, Palladium, Platin....) I could even think about making https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mokume-gane But the last version might cost more than the Pyra itself...

    It could be we're there!

So the "several caps in parallel" will avoid the noise? Or is there a way to change the frequency of the whining (to over the human hearable noise, like 40 KHz?) os is that what several cpas in parallel do?

    It could be we're there!

Thanks for this great update and no worries about Pyra not beeing a christmas "gift" for us. I love to see some thing in this world beeing finished! As for the capacitors: no Tantalium or a conflict free source is my vote.

    Shortest newspost ever... for now!

and here is another guy, who is only able to understand ONE perspective of the Pareto principle. You get 80% of <whatever thing or project> done/finished in 20% of the time. the last 20% need the other 80% of the time. Most common conclusion is: produce it, when you reach the 80%. but "this is...

    Happy Birthday Evildragon

Ah, damnit, i allways seem to be to late (at least it's only a day this time). So congrats from me to. And a quick thought to ponder upon from my site: I tend to think of birthdays not being such a big reason to celebrate as a german citizen. Germany is likely to be country, where it is clearly...

    The tale of the cases

Same here in germany. And a nice "backwards joke from a german cartoonist: http://www.nichtlustig.de/toondb/080716.html Translation: Dog: "I couldn't ate the homework, becuae the kid usually sitting here, didn't do them." Teacher:"Excuses, nothing but excuses" Sad about Mardt too. Though I...

    It's all white!

As for the heat sink: We could think about to use silver for that. It has the highest heat conductivity of all metalls. I just est. the material price for that (my usual supplier only has sheetmetal up to 2mm thickness). That would be about 25,- EUR (material only) But once we have the geometry...

    The magnificent seven

Yeah, well I'm still waiting for some lid parts from you, so i can run some tests to make custom aluminuim and Resin parts. The idea is to exchange the whole thing. so the really intresting part would be to have the Logoplate not glued into the lid. I have now access to a makerspace with a CNC...

The plausibility of an E-Ink Display

I own this reader: http://the-digital-reader.com/2013/01/24/review-hands-on-with-the-worlds-smallest-ereader/ it has a 4,3" display with 800x600 res. Holding that one instantly made me think of making a PalmPyra. Design a new Mainboard tat fits into those old PalmIII cases with a e-ink Display...
