    GPD WIN 2

Mine has the wifi bug, I'm coordinating with GPD to have it repaired. It's more annoying than anything, you have to power it down for a couple seconds and turn it back on and it it works absolutely fine until it restarts and then it's possible it returns, but it's also possible it works as...

    GPD Pocket 2 Announced

As for the concern, I'm sure they are completely aware of the pandora/pyra projects at this point. If the really wanted to, they could have easily stolen the idea already. They made an almost 1:1 replica of a 3ds with different parts. As to why would they be interested, the pandora/pyra is the...

    GPD Pocket 2 Announced

I started off saying that 2 iterations of a device came and gone since I preordered the pyra and still don't know when it's comming. GPD if anything, can get a certain level of quality out the door, so maybe you should work with them because of that. You came back saying something that came off...

    GPD Pocket 2 Announced

I was not aware the battery was such a design bottleneck on the pandora/pyra. Thought that was one of the first parts to be done, and was an outsourced part anyway. Coordination doesn't mean handing the project over. Maybe step back a bit from the glass house stone throwing. The parts that have...

    GPD Pocket 2 Announced

I preordered and received the GPD Win 1 and win 2 in the same time span of my pyra preorder which doesn't have a solid estimate for when it might be done. A bit of coordination with GPD, although probably detrimental at this point, might not be the worst of ideas for future projects.

An update of the waiting game

I've been a fan of the idea of decimal time (base 10 vs base 12) for a while. While you do only get 10 hour days, you get nearly twice the minutes per hour and seconds per minute. I just think it's a better system.

dpad is indeed the pg up\dn now, the left analog is wasd, really not a major complaint, hope they release some utility to configure all that in the future the igg update for ic firmware 1.11 looks like it has the scroll on left analog but the link is dead, any mirrors?

    GPD WIN 2

Got mine yesterday, spent most of the evening updating windows to 1803. Put some emus and stuff on it. Have to say, so far I'm very impressed. Battery life, performance, thermals, build quality, keyboard layout, screen quality, sleep problems, card sleep issues, true stereo audio. Lot of things...

    GPD WIN 2

I quoted the relevant part of my question. Yesterday a person with a higher order number backer was given a shipping estimate by GPD of June. I got a tracking number already for my donation as well. The question isn't because I'm concerned with my order, but rather the conflicting info between...

Does the distributor's batch get fulfilled before the indiegogo backers?

An update of the waiting game

I was, and still am, very bitter at the 'premium preorder' thing. Ordered on day 1, waiting years, waited out all the excuses and delays, then watching someone walk right up with a handfull of money and get theirs (which in all likelihood, numerically, would have been mine) in a matter of...

    Case closed?

I'm originally from Indiana, when I grew up, the vast majority of Indiana didn't follow DST, but parts of it did, and to further complicate things, certain parts of Indiana are on a different time zone than the rest of the state. My wife is from one such boarder town where the town was on one...

That one isn't bad at all, explains features, hits the spectrum of capabilities and limitations very clearly. Good review.

I get quite a bit of creative liberties at work, I'm one of those "men behind the curtain" to management, as long as they like the end result and it's secure and within budget, they leave me alone ;)

    GPD WIN 2

I use both, I run a vmware VDI envrionment. My esxi hosts are all *nix servers, my vcenter, horizion, and SQL servers are windows. I could use *nix for (almost) the entire stack for the sake of doing it, but we get better results from doing the mixture. Sometimes hitting the nail with a screw...

    GPD WIN 2

I really like Linus tech tips, but I'm torn on the review of the win2, he makes it seem like it's only powerful enough for game streaming from another PC and console emulation. While true it won't handle most recent titles at high settings 60fps, there is plenty of titles it should handle if...

    GPD WIN 2

ED's argument was compelling in why he thinks it's different. He views the pandora/pyra as a static system, and the win(s) is more of a open system. Not to be confused with a closed system, but a system with catered software for it vs one that has none specifically ported/written for it. Due to...

You can clock down the win 2 chipset to TDP of 4.5w (or 3.5w?). The Pandora was 2w TDP? What is the TDP of the Pyra?

That's really great, looks just like touchscreen input needs corrected. Everything else working out of the box is pretty incredible. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I understand what you are saying, I think I understood from your first response. I think the problem is in how each of us view these types of devices. I view game consoles that have actual closed gardens on the software it can run, differently than pc's and "hacked" consoles. Basically anything...
