English is a complete mess of a language. It's a smorgasbord of vocabulary and idioms from all over, and with dialects often incomprehensible even to native speakers.
It's funny, as I love language, but also hate the way local people speak.
What I like is that you can install your own alternative OS on it, and configure it how you see fit. It's also a handy size and form factor. I've no interest in the other models, it's more that I'm against the commercial/disposable mindset of the company.
The Anbernic RG35XX SP is a pretty cool little gadget, although I hate the naming (I can never remember it), and they release too many models, which makes them feel a little disposable.
Depends what you're asking!
Funny you might say that, the books are in my wishlist, albeit not the leather ones.
If you're talking leather bound, check out Four Keys Book Arts' rebinding of Dune (on YouTube)...
I remember when I first used them, I didn't want an account and wasn't particularly interested, but they had a promotion with some cereal manufacturers and were giving away free (physical) books for 6 tokens from cereal boxes. I did get a few books, and have to admit it was a good promotion.
I don't think they get paid unless it's delivered somewhere. If anyone's hanging around on the street, then they'll likely pass it to them.
I'm trying to stop using them.
Until recently I had PiHole setup to block all social media crap like that (and you've prompted me to get it back online), and also use customised hosts files, but yes, they are particularly insidious.
Cool project by the way.
You're stating an opinion based on what you like to use. My opinion is different, yet no more nor no less valid - I don't like using anything "smart", and Android, Windows et al, etc are not privacy respecting.
I fail to see your point, other than confirming my suspicion that you don't...
The Pyra simply isn't a device that was designed to compete with such devices. It's a niche (tinkerer's) device, and based on those reactions, I don't think it's for you.
I very much appreciate you for all of that, and especially being active in helping the Pyra get out to more people much more quickly than we'd otherwise get.
Unrelated, I also feel a bit of an (inevitable) shift in the community, between the haves and the have-nots. The former getting jaded...
Be that as it may, I'm so glad the Pyra exists, and I'm still excited to get one... eventually...
Perhaps I'm stupid, and/or one of only a handful of people, but I still feel the Pyra is a small wonder (and not everything needs to follow modern trends).
It still exists. It's just that there hasn't been any good / significant news for quite a while - there are units being produced, but really slowly, and there's no capacity to make improvements.
Regarding software, I've lost track on where that's at - what's not working, and if anything is...
