These guys are just plain gaslighting at this point. Trying to block out legitimate comments under all sorts of nonsense. It's starting to turn from entertaining and astonishing to annoying and creepy.
I really hope KS pulls them.
Now the "nice guy" employee who started posting in the comments section as damage control against Nadir's earlier rants (and who is definitely a different person) has been addressing alleged GPD shills. You know, with zero evidence or even good reason to believe they exist. Nice strategy, no way...
And of course, this is the justification for the KS..
Let's stop and think about this arrangement. The investors ask for a commitment of $100,000 in Kickstarter interest, to which they will provide potentially hundreds of thousands more. No strings attached.
This makes no sense.
$100,000...
Here's the latest "wow it gets even worse" update for today:
Okay, let's look back a minute on PGS's history.
1) Promote upcoming hardware on forums, claim they won't be needing Kickstarter, despite that produce a very Kickstarter-oriented promotional video.
2) When video gets distributed...
He's being sarcastic/trolling, the username is mocking PGS. He used to be NoFaceNico, you can see here:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=209913696&postcount=522
He is also the user Pardue on the Dingoonity forums, you can see his comments in the PGS thread there. Chances are really...
New backers backing in the same way a lot of the old backers do.. stumble upon the project from somewhere, thinks it looks good, don't look too much deeper into it. Not everyone will spend the time to read forums or the KS comments or look at Kicktraq trends before backing something.
But it's just so interesting. No matter how bad they look they always find some new thing to say that makes them look even worse.
Despite this I still doubt they'll lose enough funding to go below their goal.
I'm sure you saw but they actually said they wouldn't do DRM. I think the idea is that the game would come pre-installed on the device and wouldn't be distributed anywhere else for a while.
It sounds like this is what the $15k is buying. A license to ship on all PGSes and a timed exclusivity...
Is it okay if that new hardware uses an emulator? What if you can't tell the difference, at least not by only playing the games? NES emulators can get really accurate w/o needing too much CPU grunt.
More on exclusive games.
So actually, timed exclusives.
Why would anyone do such a thing for a platform like this? PGS offers them a load of cash? It must be nice to have unlimited money for these things.
I'm just imagining how this gets enforced. Maybe the game starts up and makes you do...
I like how projects like this totally break kicktraq's projection modelling.
Maybe, but you can find true believers anywhere.
Every time some emulator hoax comes around and people point out why it's an obvious fake there are always people who get defensive and angry, start bringing up...
So lately they've been saying that the retail price of PGS will be significantly higher than the KS price. They say that the whole reason they moved to KS is because their would-be investors insisted they sell at an actual margin (who would think that'd happen). But they say that'd compromise...
Happens every time someone posts something online that people don't want to hear.
As if GPD doesn't have better things to spend their money on than convincing people to not contribute to a KS project that is full of warning signs.
Latest bit of desperate activity for today:
- PGS team member once again talks at length about how passionate he is about gaming and handhelds, as if that matters at all.
- The post a video that has a bunch of quick clips from random games stitched together, claiming that it's running on "the...
Surely the units sent in to distributors would come with Windows 10 already activated. That'd be a big downside for either the distributors or the buyers to have to take any such steps.
Maybe ED should ask GPD if they can sell him any units without OS installed. They might not like this if it...
I know I'm not terribly impressed. Voyo V3 does all that throttling when running a power virus on CPU + GPU (not really a typical situation, no idea what PGSLab ran) to maintain a total power consumption of like 10W...
