Noticed the fade and appeared to be handled fine but I would need to see two versions playing at the same time to spot any lag. It is a cheap device and not really suited for playing movies but with the tests you should have an idea what the current hardware is capable of. Personally I wouldn't...

@levi all your files worked fine as far as I could tell (hard to compare because it is a still image, but sound didn't stutter or lagging with startup) Also tried a few from https://test-videos.co.uk/ and the smaller 360 movies worked fine, but the larger 1080 stutter and can even hang) Added a...

I can try them out but please keep in mind that the only supported format mentioned by powkiddy is MP4 not MKV. I don' t have the device in my possession anymore, so will probably take a week to test.

If you provide a file to test I can give it a try.

Received it yesterday and played with it a bit. Removed all games and only installed a small selection per system. Firmware is a dumbed-down version of retroarch. Not able to install new cores but it has enough systems for a ton of games. Adding games is a bit of work (changing xml files) can...

    PanMAME Betatesting

From wikipedia. So Astroids used the MOS 6502. Hardware Asteroids was implemented on hardware developed by Delman and is a vector game, in which the graphics are composed of lines drawn on a vector monitor.[14] Rains initially wanted the game done in raster graphics, but Logg, experienced in...

    PanMAME Betatesting

Okay, too bad. Already noticed Astroids was not on the gaming list. Mame4all vector games are not as sharp as on the GP2X but they are playable (without bright daylight). With LCD gamma set to "very bright" and playing in the dark it works best.

Ah, okay. Well, if you ever feel the need to add them I'd advice even more buttons. 3 on both sides and one on the front. 3 for side and front nudging, 2 for flippers and 2 for magna save or an additional set of flippers. Visual Pinball is fantastic for this kind of setup and provides a very...

Very nice, especially the additional 4 pinball buttons (assuming the right side has 2 buttons as well) and the trackball.

Hmm.. can FBA play something like Astroids? I thought it was mainly for CPS2 games? Anyway, worth a try.

Indeed, great observation! Arcade machines were as far as I know always left hand directional but playing with a joystick on home computers (I loved the arcade joystick from Suzo) I always steered with my right hand like you described. Same applies to PC gaming with keyboard always used the...

    PanMAME Betatesting

Tried to play around with various settings in PanMame but vector games look horrible. Something like Astroids you don' t even see the bullets what makes it unplayable, the brightness of the vector lines is gray/blurred. Mame4all performs slightly better, but still not very sharp. Has anyone a...

Specs for this device are not shared in detail (not even on the powkiddy site). So headphone out specs are not shared. Wasn't able to find a user manual that could have helped. Music Format: WAV, MP3 Video Format: MP4 External Speaker: Support Not very extensive codec support out of the box...

Hmm.. okay.. I did say any thoughts :) Yeah, you can clearly spot his Dutch accent. I only play games on my Pandora and personally don't need another device. This is indeed a lot less portable than something like a Pandora but still interesting from a pure gaming perspective. Playing with a...

Seems like a very decent retro-gaming device (up to PS1) that is pretty cheap. I like the form factor with joystick/buttons, but I don't like the red plastic toyish look. For that price you can't complain though and all reviews I've seen are very positive. No community around this product as far...

GP2X open2x autorun after exit program

Open2X has an option to run autorun.gpu from SD card. autorun.gpu is slightly different than /usr/gp2x/gp2xmenu #! /bin/sh cd /mnt/sd/gmenu2x exec ./gmenu2x So they are not the same, and the SD card autorun.gpu starts gmenu2x from SD card. This provides another gmenu2x environment that is...

GP2X open2x autorun after exit program

Ah, so no space needed between ./gmenu2x &? /usr/menu/gmenu2x is an executable. Tried to open it with termula2x and didn't provide anything readable.
