    SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

My biggest beef with the PSP Vita is going to be the game buttons. Having looked at the PCB online, I see it has those crappy little dome switches. The original NDS did that and I don't like it. I guess we shall see on Feb. 22. :)

Need to buy a new charger. Detailed specs?

This is such a terrible idea. Did you check the output? You probably did but this just reads like "it fit and it didn't blow up so I'm going to use it". If it puts out more than 5.5V (perhaps 6V at the limit but your Pandora is going to get much hotter!) I would stop using it. Just reading...

    A Pandora 2 Concept

No it would have a dual core, 2GHz processor with at least 1GB of RAM if it ever has a chance to get manufactured.

    Retrode2

The case plastic looks really nice on this thing. Maybe we should ask them which company did it. :)

After a long day, there'll be another one (2011-12-21)

The way this German company handles production is the way things really should have always been. It is certainly the way other companies I have worked with previous to Pandora have been (too bad they couldn't handle the fine pitched parts). What an embarrassment it is to know what we have had...

    Preparing for Germany (2011-08-26)

There isn't going to be a 1GHz chip going into Pandora for a long time if ever. We ordered THOUSANDS of 3530's a long time ago thinking that CC would actually produce boards on a schedule and those chips are going to run into batch 3. We can't just tell the distributor, "oh sorry, here take...

    Cancelling my order

How's your hearing with the sound of things whizzing past your head all day?

Possible to make a custom order?

    You must be joking.

Power Supply and Wiki status question

Do not attempt to use this adapter. I have no idea what it is but it is not the adapter shipped with Pandoras. I assume this was from an Ebay auction then? You can charge by USB and it does have to be on to charge.

    Nintendo ds emulator

I'll take the PS2 emulator. I'm not crazy enough to try the PS3 one. ;)

    Nintendo ds emulator

Well sure you can! Just render the game at 400x480 with a one pixel spacing and draw every second frame off by one. Then, stick your head in one of those paint can shakers and VOILA! instant 3D ;) By the way, thanks for the DS pnd Notaz. Even if it is crap, it's still fun to check stuff...

    That Mellow Yellow Ad

I wouldn't mind seeing that picture go away myself. You can't just X it out because you lose the new topics section too. The girl was a much better sight of course but if the company no longer exists, I'd rather it be blank space so I don't have to feel weird opening this site outside of my...

    Surround sound possible?

I always come in late to correct the mistakes. :) The line output (ext connector) is the preamplified output of the DAC (PCM1773 has high voltage line drive capability). Then it goes to the headphone amplifier which is also the speaker amplifier (speakers are 8 ohms which means the amp puts...

An appointment and boards shipping (2011-07-22)

The great wifi resistor conspiracy of '10 had nothing to do with CC. Once Notaz got me a kernel with working wifi code, I was able to determine that the value of a resistor in the oscillator circuit was too high and was creating a weak clock to the wifi chip. I changed the value, told CC and...

    Pandora on HackADay

Based on some of the comments, I would say stirring Kool-Aid into water.

    Release Yabause

That is all in the hands of the fine folks at TI at this point. ;) Maybe they have some Saturn or even Dreamcast fans on staff. :)

How good are the nubs supposed to be?

The nub firmware itself isn't the greatest either. That whole 'calibrate on the fly' thing has a tendency to lose itself. It isn't easy to get the nub manufacturer to look at the firmware considering the team that first designed it was from the company that went bankrupt. If only they could...
