I mean both versions use the appdata folder "gimp". I wanted to know if there are any conflicts, when both versions use the same appdata folder.

Is it possible, that GIMP 2.6 and GIMP 2.8 use the same appdata folder, or do I have to rename the appdata folder everytime I want to use the other version?

GNOME Mplayer was not in the list, but I did now the following: I installed 1.55 firmware, then the codec pack and then upgraded to 1.71. At least I have now the GNOME Mplayer back.
