Hi ED, a question for you... Lets say I have access to a solder pot and a skilled hardware guy (I work at an electronics firm), would dropping out the existing CPU and RAM (I presume they are BGA?) and upgrading them myself be a conceivable possibility? Or would it be just too hard to de-solder...

Not sure about this one. There are definitely others interested as I'm sure I've seen several other topics started on this... If no off-the-shelf products work I don't think it'd be too hard to hack some IR gear into the Pandora.

Yeap I was planning to hack the GPIO lines and maybe stick a decent ADC in it. I dunno exactly what my plans are yet but I will definitely need two decent rs232 ports.
