    New Pyra just arrived...

Looks like it's configured here: Pyra-ignore-lidswitch.conf (Permalink). It says it's because "suspend doesn't work yet". The file seems to be installed at /usr/lib/systemd/logind.conf.d/Pyra-ignore-lidswitch.conf. Entry point is: https://dev.pyra-handheld.com Repo for configs, scripts, etc...

    Pyra screen

Sorry for the spamming  @Inqui In case it's "just" Xorg not working, maybe you're able to... ... or e.g. ctrl+alt+F4 to switch to the console. Well, actually ctrl+alt+fn+2 or ctrl+alt+fn+4, obviously. Have you tried this? In case I've missed something in the above posts, let me know.

    Pyra screen

I don't have a Pyra. I was trying to help by inspecting the "Spoiler: Xorg.0.log" posted above:

    Pyra screen

I just had a brief look into the Xorg.0.log. Some things look strange to me, e.g.: [ 21.663] (EE) Screen 1 deleted because of no matching config section. [ 21.663] (II) UnloadModule: "omap5" There are some other warnings (WW), e.g.: [ 21.604] (WW) Falling back to old probe method for omap5 [...

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

Maybe you're confusing it with Ubuntu having dropped i386 architecture?

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

... the base for the next set of esr versions seems to be 91 according to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefox_version_history#Future_official_releases

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

In Debian sid (unstable), recent Firefox versions are available for armhf. Right now it's version 85.0.1. Though I don't know if it's a good idea to apt-pin it into buster (stable), there might be dependency conflicts and I don't know about security fixes either. Maybe someone else can comment...

Which software do you miss on Pyra?

Having no technical knowledge about this, I can at least confirm that the emulator pcsx2 is only available for architecture i386 in the debian repositry. https://packages.debian.org/buster/pcsx2 (architectures are listed at the bottom of the page). The description mentions that this package...

    USB Video Class on Pyra?

To complete the post: For compiling a new kernel, the corresponding source would be needed. I think this is available in https://packages.pyra-handheld.com/unstable/ -> e.g. linux-5.9.13-daveiii-pyradef_5.9.13-daveiii-pyradef.orig.tar.gz.

    USB Video Class on Pyra?

I had a look into the image https://packages.pyra-handheld.com/images/buster/-> test33.img.7z. It contains the kernel 5.6.19-daveiii-pyradef-aufs. Doing grep -i uvc /boot/config-5.6.19-daveiii-pyradef-aufs returns # CONFIG_USB_CONFIGFS_F_UVC is not set In the package repo...

My first impressions of the Pyra

@Twiitcher Any progress? Maybe try something like this in the terminal to check if the modem shows up: sudo rfkill sudo rfkill unblock wwan sudo rfkill mmcli --list-modems The first three commands are checking and unblocking wwan. Last command is the modemmanager listing available modems. If...

Ah, ok. I don't have any suggestion for this, unfortunately.

My first impressions of the Pyra

and from another thread: Not sure if this helps: At GPD Win I had to export SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_DISPLAY=0 for fullscreen to work with SDL. I don't know where's the best place to put that environment variable in, I had it added to the end of ~/.xsessionrc but probably /etc/profile.d/NEWFILE.sh...

    Tales of an Assembly

I wouldn't worry that much. There will be some ways to tweak your unit. Or you replace the affected parts with new ones at a later date.

Linux on GPD Win 1. Where to begin?

Just for the record... On Debian live image of testing (bullseye) including non-free firmware, most of the stuff on the GPD Win 1 works out of the box now: Booting live image from USB flash drive, wifi, battery indicator, sd-card...

    It's software this time!

Unfortunately, I haven't received an e-mail either. Checked the spam folder, too. I ordered end of January 2018. By the way, I'm No. 1103 according in the numbers image thread (https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/the-numbers-image-thread.77461/page-42#post-1430331). Although generally the...

    Production Pyra photos/videos/thoughts thread

Is the keyboard layout in X11 ok again? If that's the case, there might be different settings for virtual console and for X11. You could check the following things: cat /etc/default/keyboard This one is used in the virtual console. gsettings get org.mate.peripherals-keyboard-xkb.kbd layouts...
