Should I have received my final order eMail already?

I'm agonisingly within 150 of the last order number quoted, it's getting nearer though ;)

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

To be fair the Pyras have hardly started shipping yet, only the pre-preorders are out there so until the main orders start shipping regularly it's going to be difficult to build a community other than this one of people waiting. I mean I could do a video of the space where my Pyra isn't.... ;)

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

We're all eagerly watching what happens to Kaprikawn to find out

    Just a quick heads up

I assume you'd lose your place in the Pyra waiting list at that point?

    Beauty competition.

It was for the iPaq and my guess as to where you can buy them is somewhere between "ebay" and "You can't".

Dell Alienware: Concept UFO handheld/portable console (Windows gaming PC)

I'd be nervous buying one, I had an Alienware Laptop (MX11 R2) and the driver support from Dell was horrendous. I think we had one graphics card update in total while nvidia kept producing updates for the nvidia half of the dual graphics card and plastering warnings about the update not being...

Even more to see here (now)

Ok this is going to sound a bit silly but I seem to keep wanting tech that's sounds perfectly reasonably until you try to buy it, then turns out to be rare/impossible. Currently the thing I'd most love the pyra to have (I know it doesn't have one) is a HDMI in port. I've been looking for a...

    Case Improvements and the keymat

The way the parliaments going about it at the moment the Pyra will be with us long before Brexit (and the Pyra's replacement CPU board, and the Pyra 2 and ....)

    The Final Revision

Bit dull though, we should name them like the old Amiga chip sets. Mia, Emma and Hannah are apparently the most popular girl's names in Germany at the moment (not that they have to be girl's names). Of course the A500's motherboard itself was called the B-52 Rock Lobster.

Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

Harsh, BBCs were in every school at the time so there was a valid reason for parents buying them for their kids, not sure what the Amstrad argument was ;). Of course if you couldn't afford a BBC (like my parents couldn't) then you ended up with an Acorn Electron, which I still have, also...

Is there really a light at the end of the journey...?

I keep reading comments about how the Pyra will be obsolete before it's ready. Now my understanding of obsolete is that it has been replaced by something that does everything it does but better, so if you could point me to the more up to date handheld Linux computer I should be buying instead...

An update of the waiting game

Just as an aside, the alternative to EvilDragon's transparent, honest process with no unrealistic timescales is the debacle at retro computers ZX Spectrum reboot. The Register has been covering it extensively and there's an article on the latest problems today ...

    Let's move the moulds!

Well there's got to be some benefit to advancing in years, I've been able to play games from my teenage years (BBC/Electron) on the go for years ;)

What programming language should I use

I feel the need for a small word of caution on this one. Whilst I like Python and it's fast becoming the language of choice in many areas (data processing and machine learning being two of the big ones) I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to anyone as a first language. It's just a bit too...
