I just ordered one. :D

Easy enough to find on your own, but I thought I'd post it up if people had forgotten they're out there. :)

I ordered one from DX ages ago and it took forever to arrive; finally it did arrive, but alas I couldn't find my GP32 cable so I've ordered a replacement.. should be here soon.

So between the two of us, we should be able to figure out if these damnwell work soon ;)

I forgot all about DX. Looks like they're cheaper on there. Oh well, at least with Newegg I get their legendary customer service. :)

I also ordered an XD card from here:

http://www.upgradenation.com/664862/fuji-film-fuji-128mb-xd.html

$10 with free shipping. Kind of a sucky price when you realize 2GB XD cards are only $20 in store, but since SMC devices can't read or write more than 128MB, I figure there's no point in going bigger, even at a better value.

Got the adapter in yesterday and the XD card in today. Works pretty well! I'm actually tempted to go and see if it works with cards over 128mb now, although the item description says it doesn't so I don't know if there's any point in that. I don't have anything else that uses XD cards either, so if it didn't work, I'd just be wasting my money.

I may well work with cards over 128MB, but I can tell you now, it can only ever tell the GP32 that it supports upto 128MB, as thats the most the firmware supports. There's no standard for anything bigger than that, so you'll have fun trying to find something.

yeah its no go for anything over 128mb save your cash. I remember when this came up in the good old days so many ideas and none of them really could have worked. :( Pore old gp32 didnt even know that it was doomed to such a small media size.

Do you mean..,

1) SMC XD adapter, with 128MB or less SMC... works!
2) SMC XD adapter, with >128MB SMC .. cannot even format it to 128MB and work? always fails?

if (2), I'm boned! Hard enough to find any XD, let alone specific small sizes :/

I can't even get the GP32 to talk to GP Manager on Vista :)

jeff

Edit; I just got DX usb-adapter, and couple weeks ago received SMC XD adapter and 1GB XD card. I figure I can test it onceI get Vista recognizing the Geepee, but if its boned.. let me know :)

I'm not sure you can get the GP32 working with Vista. I can get it working long enough to read the directory on Windows 7, but formatting or transferring files doesn't work.

Luckily, I built an 800mhz machine a while back specifically to run Windows 98, so I've just been using that.

Its gona be hit or miss on any thing over 128mb. If i remember there was talk about it working just only 128MB being used.
Trying to get gp manger to work with vista good luck =\ might be better off just using the gp32 as a mass storage device or just using you cardreader.
