Ok, here's the story. For chrimbo i was given a new sony walkman. Some of you may have heard of how poor the software for this is, and sony has picked up on this. They are giving me a free album of my choice, but i can't decide.

I need reccomendations
I am into metal/punkish music, but i also like classic rock such as pink floyd.

Does anyone know of any albums using these attributes which would satisfy my taste?

Thanks

Your pal,

Nova

you tried "at the drive in"? breakdown of communication was (is) a good album.

yep I vote you pick up system too. Hypnotize is the newer one yes, but mezmerize is a jillion times better IMO. I like around 90% of the songs on mez, and only 20% on hyp.

Yep, same here. And all the extra video footage is well worth not simply leeching it from limewire or a torrent.

The Darkness - great lyrics

Led Zep 1-4 - Immigrant song especially - stopped me dead in my tracks on my way to the beer tent at Knebworth 90.

Every one I've heard so far involves screaming. Is this because songs involving screaming are popular? *ponders*

Edit: Nevermind, I just heard one without screaming. Very good song, although they sound like they've just swallowed a bucket full of sulphuric acid sometimes.

I agree. System is definitly a group which requires getting used to. A certain member on this board *cough* psymastr *cough* made a comment that since I like rap/hip hop I have no real taste in music. Yet he likes system more than life itself in addition to euro rave LOL. whatever

Dont be dissing the Happy Hardcore.

And for the last time, I never said on that friggen thread you have to taste in music, you kept saying that I said it. I said that rap takes no talent, but thats my opinion. Lets not start this conversation again. Back on topic.

System of a Down is very good. If you want less screaming, get Hypnotize. I love both the albums a lot, and hypnotize has about 3 songs towards the end that are really good with no screaming (or was that mezmerize?) I get the 2 mixed up, as I listen to them at the same time like they are supposed to be listend to, so I get confused which songs are on which.

"Dude, you like ganster rap. You have no taste in music"
