The name's wonky but the techniques are probably still firmly grounded in real world physics.

Stackoverflow got a new Code of Conduct, most downvoted post ever

Why not? Even if someone is being an annoying little shit about it, what does it cost you to use different pronouns where appropriate? How often on stack overflow do you even refer to someone in third person in such a way that you'd need pronouns anyway? 99% of the time when talking about...

    Vegetarian Awareness Month (October)

Use a vegan bechamel: use margarine instead of butter and soy milk instead of dairy. And vegan cheese, I guess, but I'd honestly recommend just not using cheese in that case.

    Vegetarian Awareness Month (October)

Start with a basic bechamel sauce recipe: half cup butter, half cup flour, cook for a couple minutes and stir until smooth, slowly add 1l of milk. Melt in a brick of cream cheese, crush an entire bulb of garlic into it, chop up a three or four cups of your preferred veggies (I used broccoli and...

    Vegetarian Awareness Month (October)

I made an amazing veggie white sauce lasagne and none of you can have any because I ate it all. Well, wife and roommate ate, like, 1/3 each, but that last 1/3 was all me. I miss that lasagne, I wish I'd made 1/3 more.

    So, what you backing? [crowdfunders]

Remember the last time a 3rd party made a dock for the Switch and then Nintendo updated the firmware and a lot of Switch's died because apparently they aren't actually using USB-C protocol, just kind of USB-C-ish and since they explicitly say not to use third party devices so there was no...

    Preparing for a Prototype

You could be right, I'm seeing a lot of conflicting reports, most suggesting that it was the world's fair like you say. Someone who isn't me should get to the bottom of this.

But that makes things worse. The farms still exist, just because it's in another country doesn't make it less polluting. If there's a surplus, the smart thing to do is to dial back production until it meets demand so there's no waste. Smarter, I should say, at least than arbitrarily cutting...

    Preparing for a Prototype

The Americas popularize deep frying things, but they aren't necessarily the ones who created them. Deep fried ice cream, for example, comes from Japan. Deep fried Mars bars are Scottish.

    Librem 5 phone by Purism

These are not mutually exclusive things: you can still be a bully, a jerk, an ass, an unwanted source of negativity while being 100% factually correct.

    Librem 5 phone by Purism

Don't worry about ThinkPad. He's been a major source of negativity for months and when he was finally formally called out on it and told exactly why no one liked his behaviour, instead of stepping back, contemplating his actions, and trying to be a better person, he went even harder. Expect him...

Even more to see here (now)

There's a person that says they "tell it like it is" when criticising others, and they're always 100% correct: the person they call fat is fat; the person in the ugly sweater is wearing an ugly sweater; the person can't understand why two things are equivalent is indeed scraping the bottom of...

    PineTime Smart Watch

I like the idea of an open source OS to tinker with, but I hate the screen. Smartwatches should use e-paper like the Pebble did: I shouldn't have to shield my wrist and turn on the backlight just to see what time it is.
