Never said there's anything wrong with what you're asking for, just think its a little early to be thinking about. I'm personally not sure if any carrying case will ever be made for it on a commercial level.(Not an authority though) So you if you want said you may have to do like the software...

Hmm I like the idea, if someone else doesn't do I make do it myself. And as to cracking nuts with a sledgehammer... I've actually done that, hickory nuts(We have a tree) are TOUGH buggers. It actually takes more force with a sledgehammer then one would expect to crack them...
Not always. Those are the official specs, but many chinese factories go overspec. I know that before there was SDHC support on the gp2x, people used these cards. And normal SD cards max at 2 gigs, not 1.
Not following a spec for the standard technically makes the card not an SD card, but only...
Why not have the base system mount the sd card via a union. That way it would be easy to add to the system(lib and exe wise) without modify the nand, and you would still be able to use the proper libs in the proper filesystem layout.
Its not the N-gage 'd be worried about its the Zodiac which is very simular to the GP32, but has a better CPU more ram. touch screen etc... of course the thing costs a small fortune too.
Eh glad I'm in the States, can get the 128 cards for $24 rather then £24, to bad the shipping from here would raise the price to the point it may as well be in £. =P
