Cool, then it seems that there are a lot of alternatives for linux, I guess it is just a matter to wait for the Pyra to arrive (in two months (tm), of course) and check what I need at that time while I learn some linux in advance. Thank you everyone so far for your helpful contribution :)

Thank you all very much for your help, I believe it's much more clear now :) I already had a lot of plans for the Pyra, but with your explanations I think I can expand it a lot and effectively use it as a small pc I can carry anywhere.
