Pandora C64 Development on the Pandora

Hi All, Anyone doing any C64 development on the Pandora? I've just got the basics going here... KickAssembler running on the JRE. Which I run from the terminal. gedit as a full screen editor. VICE x64 on a button on my Xfce launcher. I can hook up my Mac wireless bluetooth keyboard...

Thanks, ED, for the sound settings tip. Your buffer / freq / etc settings sorted me out, my VICE runs nice and smooth now! -James.

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

OK, Got the new battery, thank you very much. I didn't think I'd see any life out of my pandora again... But I did! It fired up perfectly, and I had about an hour of use from it. All seemed perfect, although the device was hot towards the rear center. I even saw the red light on for a while...

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

Thank you all for the replies... I am very special, it seems! Just my luck. :) I've put it plugged it into an iPad charger (10W, that seems pretty powerful), with a mini USB lead attached. No life yet, but I'll leave it a little longer. Will the USB port charge exactly the same as the normal...

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

Thanks for all the input, all. I know load on the power supply is important, but I don't have another 5V supply to use. And it sounds like my unit generated way more heat than you guys have had. I've sent an email to Jacqueline, who's forwarded it to Craig. We'll see what he says. I wonder...

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

Thanks all, for the quick replies. I put a shim under the battery cover (a thin piece of balsa wood) and it's definitely snug in there now. I left it plugged into the charger over night, no change this morning. Removing the battery, and plugging in a mini-USB, also does not show lights nor...

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

To follow up, I do hear a fairly quiet 'click', similar to the sound when you first plug the power into a ZX Spectrum (!) when plugging in the power supply. There is no change in behaviour if I disconnect the power, remove the battery, and re-connect the power (I understand some Pandora's will...

Empty battery - No LED - No start - Advice needed

Hello. I've got this same issue, with my newly arrived Pandora. :( What a bummer after it's 3+ year journey to me. It worked for about 20 minutes, I even got the spectrum emulator running, it looked great. I then powered it off, to let it charge. I noticed a lot of heat around the rear...

    Faster delivery/upgrade - Craig's orders

Hello! Finally signed up to this board, now that Gruso's blog is no longer updated. Been following the Pandora since just before ordering on the 2nd of October, 2008. It's part of my daily ritual to follow up on the status... I paid the upgrade on the 19th of March, 2012, and got a queue...

    General C64 Emulation Discussion

Ordered my Pandora last week, very excited to see how this whole thing develops. I didn't find a thread about C64 emulation here, so I thought I'd open one up. I guess we need a port of VICE or Frodo - anyone got plans for such a beast? Cheers, -James.
