    GP2X Java On Gp2x?

It is good news but I think that people will be more excited once it actually happens.

Gp2x Break Out Box (finished Product)

I'd really like some sort of dock that has several USB ports so that you can use USB joysticks. VGA and HDTV aren't possible due to the current wiring of the EXT port even though the video encoder can handle both.

    Vx6000 Usb Cable And Gp2x

Actually, this could be useful. The e810 connector has guide ridges that need to be shaved off to get it to fit. It looks like the vx6000 might fit unmodified.

General Question About Boot-up And Bricking

Aha, that would explain it. It would be good if it was uploaded to the archive to make it easier for people in the future. About your question about the circuit for the JTAG interface. The simple versions that you see circuits for on the net are basically translating the output of the PC's...

General Question About Boot-up And Bricking

Kaos, thanks for your writeup. I looked at the link you provided and I couldn't find the file JTAG KIT.zip, and I can read Spanish :D

    Bob Ideas

I'd really like one of these, but I'd also like a USB host cable with an inline 3V to 5V stepup converter so you could use low-amperage devices like the DreamGear or iType2 USB thumboards or joysticks without any additional hardware. I was thinking of getting one of these to hack something...

Are There Any Pics Of A Opened Unit?

Cool! I plan to open mine up - just as soon as it arrives ;) What I wanted to see was whether GPH had wired up all 4 of video out lines from the CX25874 graphics encoder chip, so that you could hack HDTV and/or VGA (both of which the CX25874 supports). Doesn't look like it, though.

Are There Any Pics Of A Opened Unit?

I've been looking around to see if anyone has documented the internals of the GP2X. I know what's inside from reading the wiki, but I was curious if anyone has already taken the plunge and opened up the unit.

    GP2X Java On Gp2x?

I haven't tried it yet, but I think that you can use the Odonata AWT classes with SdlJava instead of the Classpath AWT.

    GP2X Java On Gp2x?

Well, it shows that it's feasible anyway. Someone with time on their hands needs to take it on (not me, unfortunately), but all the raw ingrediants are there.

    GP2X Java On Gp2x?

Over on the Nokia 770 mailing list, they've been tackling this same thing. Someone there documented it on his website. http://www.microemu.org/maemo/ Here are what appear to be the most common set of projects used to get some form of Java running on handhelds: VM: JamVM -...
