    bullseye-5-install, not really

The bookworm image tents to hang from time to time ... you have to reboot the pyre. It took me 4 reboots for a full "apt update && apt dist-upgrade". Then it no longer crashes. What I could not do was to resize the image. I used Wally's makeimg branch with some patches/fixes, that created a...

    A case of polls!

We can do PANIC ... PANIC ... PANIC ... Wait what? Don't what? PANIC?!?!? Whaaaat? I CAN'T HEAR YOU! ... oooh.! Don't panic. Why, why did you make me PANIC!?!

    It's software this time!

    IMHO, Yes!

    Beauty competition.

Dark Chrome looks the best to me, but black is not bad either ...

    It's the speed that counts.

Tritium is not a trademark. Tritium is hydrogen(H3 or T) with 2 protons, which makes it radioactive. The gas has probably escaped through the seals(nothing can seal hydrogen completely) or while changing the battery(properly needs to be refueled before closing the case).

    Silence!

As far as I understand Spectre/Meltdown, Pentium3 should not be affected. They don't do speculative access to memory as far as I know.

Tiny speed comparison. Pyra vs Raspberry Pi3 vs core2duo vs i7

Or the memory bandwith is the limiting factor. A synthetic benchmark that runs in cache only should show different data. Askarus test is a compile run which may also add the SD-card speed as a limiting factor.

    Important color changes

You are probably not safe after this changes. An attack just needs a little more time to guarantee that the read data is correct. Spectre is a timing attack and as far as I know there exists not even a theory on how to make a program save on affected processors. Probably the only way to make...

    Finalizing the PCBs

I think you forget that in our reality you have to compromise for every thing. In this case you have to find a working compromise between heat mitigation and case strength/development time. If you add more openings in the case you add instability and complexity. You also add a lot of time for a...

    Finalizing the PCBs

I'm one of those who are Ok with a pyra that uses 1.5GHz only sometimes. It is a mobile device after all. I do not want an external heaatspreader, that will only introduce more points of failure.

How much storage can we get?

You mean like a Pyra with two of these: or . You may also use one of each and test which one is destroyed first ... ;)

    Power, Memory and Schematics

We preorders are people paying for a product, EvilDragon and hns are some of the people doing the creating stuff. Thus they have some stakes in this as well and we should accept there decisions as long as they are not fraud, which so far they are NOT. The hardware is open, so is the...

    Power, Memory and Schematics

Please don't even think about sending out a 1.2 GHz version, please. @Grench(and others who want some thing fast): We know that 1.5GHz is possible(eval boards), thus everything less indicates a problem(sofar a unknown one). Maybe even a problem that can happen with 1.2GHz later on, after some...

    THE NUMBERS IMAGE THREAD!

Did we just loose 200 preorders? In this picture I see 733, this is better:
