Im thinking about posting some music files here in off topic of my stuff coz i wanna get some opinions on my tunes but im not sure if ne1 wud like it its kinda heavy rock with a few elements of funk and blues with some good old metal finger tapping etc (really fast fret work for those who don't know wot im on about).
Neway my influences are-
Rage against the machine
Audioslave
Hendrix
Eddie van halen
Led Zeppelin
Ac/Dc (they got good riffin)
umm loadsa stuff u get the general idea wot dya think is it a good idea???

Oh and megadeth are a new found influence too!

for about a year, but i dont play in a band or anything, just do it for fun, mostly play Tab but know a fair few chords, i have no idea on the theary of music or anythin like that though.

Yay! Gimme gimme gimme! Free music = good, free rock = better :D I would love to listen to your tunes.

Cool this is good news im not promising it to b quick though im in the middle of adding solos and stuff but it will b quite soon ill keep u posted on the progress!

Plus it also relies on when mp3.com gets bk online then i can add my files onto there and give links, i think thats probably the best way of doin, unles theres another free alternative file hoster?

Of u go guys that play the guitar are u interested in some ska style sweep picking that ive conjured up, it sounds interesting to my ears and i wondered wot u guys wud think?

All those bands you listed are pretty fantastic their pretty much my playlist except replace mega death and van halen with finch (yay!), franz ferdinand and funeral for a friend ( not so great .) I'd be really interested in hearing some mp3 demo's. I will have been playing the guitar 2 years this coming christmas so not 2 long i guess.......

maybe we could post what amp, guitar, fx you play with etc ?
i currently use a fender bullet squier ( i'm a beginner after all ) straight into my soundblaster live with kx audio drivers sometimes with my marshall guvnor 2 distortion pedal > then into Amplitube or gutifier or Jcm 900 plugin or Fender blackface plugin with all sorts of distortion pedal fx > then into my amp with 2 65 watt floor standing speakers... A while back i went into soundcontrl + played on an jcm 2000 tsl with 1960 cabinet that was pretty freakin amazing

I use a simple set-up i have a squier tele custom (double humbucker), its been modified extremely i got rid of the old shitty chinese pick-ups and replaced them with two major high put beasts from a maverick guitar(from the same makers as ibanez), ive also removed the tone switches thus giving my pickups more ummf and strangely it also gives u more tone, and ive had the frets stoned and ive lowered the action so it plays all good, so in general it feels like a real fender rather than a chep old squire and sounds much more.
On the amps and effects side of things i just have a simple marshall mg30dfx, effects pedals wise i dont really use much, i frequently use a jim dunlop cry baby wah (the same as jimi hendrix himself used to), i dont tend to use a distortion pedal as the onboard overdrive on my amp is very good but when i do i use a dan electro t-bone distortion pedal, i also have digitech rp30 effects processor with a bespeco expression pedal for all my whammying needs and everything else athough i don't tend to use it much.
Basicallly i prefer to keep things simple, as a player i prefer to do the most i can without effects and wotnot but i do frequently use my wah and he only other thing i tend to do alot is use pick-up switch techniques as i think tremolo pedals are shite and give u no control at all, but as said i much prefer to rely on my own skill and obtain my sound through techniques i use such as finger tapping, sweep picking, pinch harmonics and pick-up switching etc.
Also as a lost note how many notes per second can every1 reach???
But this without finger tapping just through use a pick,
I can achieve roughly 15 maybe a few more when i sweep pick!
Well phew i think im done! :p

Oh i almost forgot noway shud u replace megadeth and van halen with finch noway, never, ever ever. Van halen is just awesome and is an absolute shred master, and megadeth are typical 80's shred with the mighty Marty freidman and Dave mustaine, Marty being a sweep picking king!!!
So if u havent heard them or from what uve heard of them doesn't impress u much, get in contact through msn or my e-mail and i'll tell u tracks to look out for because they are awesome, i mean im talking whole songs which are practically entire solos with them reaching up to 20 odd notes a second constantly!!!
