I would rather get a better mod!

My mashmod wish list!

-32MB RAM upgrade (great for systems that cant be emulated cause roms are too big)
-internal clock installation (a firmware could have the clock built in, and it could be used for games that use a clock)
-Shell coloring( im too wuss to take mine apart to color it)

sorry, i don't get it. what are you talking about?
a controller addon? does it mean to plug a joypad in the ext port, or what?

0-Bake- On mashmods.com they have a mod for just about any handheld console to put a controller(NES,SNES,Genesis,SMS,Atari  , PSX) into a port they make. Check mashmods.com for details.

i would get the snes controller if opensnes9x used button combos for the X and Y buttons
I would also hope that they make a version of opensnes9x that has 3 buttons to equal the x and 3 to equal the right so i dont hit x and y on a combo on accident
just one question tho...
does using a remap like this and combos mean that if x = a+b buttons
when i hit x , will a and b fuctions happen and x function?

Only Select + Button would be a good combo, using any others can result in serious problems. A+B for example, many games have "run + jump" or A+L for attack at angles, etc..etc.. Y+A for jumping and shooting in S Metriod, B+A+Y for running, jumping and shooting in super metriod, etc... Instead of trying to manipulate settings for each individual game, you can use select as the combo button, Select is not used in many games (and can probably be disabled if it is) so the select button could easily be used as the "MODE" button without breaking compatiblity with any games or causing headaches if you accidently press the combos when you dont mean to...

If that were the case I would RATHER have two buttons added to the GP face (they have such a mod on mashmods) but have those maped to combos instead. (for eample, 1 button would be Select+L and the other Select+R) It would be alot easier to play on the go that way.

I think i'll get a good old snes controller on mine, but i don't think i could last a few days without my gp as i use it all the time for mp3's to and from skool, with the odd game of mario world in the more boring lessons.

Having a controller port on it would kind of defeat the point of having a handheld.
Why can't they just do a 2 extra button mod like with the GBA...
Also yes a RAM mod would be good and sounds pretty possible but it'd require quite a few dead GP32s...

Josquius, that is exactly what I said. I think this mod is completely useless... but well, if someone thinks he can use it, by all means, please yourself with it ;) I just don´t see the point.

actually, the ram mod is realatively easy
I am thinking bout modding mine but theres one prob
I dont have a precision sodder-er , and the upgrade requires it
And if the 32mb upgrade is offered , I have to mod the bios ( ahh dont want to do! )
its basicly a take off and sodder on job
mashmods could do it if they offered a pre-modded bios for download

ps i have bad experience with rewriting a part of a systems operations

where the hell would you put the GP32? In your lap?

Sounds stupid to me, an extra two buttons would be far more useful, as well as the 32meg ram mod of course...

If they can get the GP32 to work with the GBA TV-out adaptor, I'm buying that mod (with a Sega Saturn pad...or maybe an MS Sidewinder...) on the spot.
