ive only had my gp32 a day but have been on it none stop, what im wondering is , is there a way of on the gp32 or in pclink to see how much room you have left on your smc, i can swap the smc over to my card reader but its a hassle when only adding one big file and want to make sure theres room. does pclink check the space before trying to copy or does it only report it after its halfway through? thanx

Hi,

In pc-link, If you select GP32 in the left hand part of the window. Then goto the file menu and select properties, At the botton of the window is a status line.
It tells you the Total size, Used size and free size of you SMC card in the GP32

Hope this helps

I think that it checks before starting to copy. The only way I know of finding out the free space is to use your card reader. That's how I do it anyway.

Thing is... its faster to copy the files via the card reader anyway. So unless you're installing a package or copying MP3s that need to have their tags changed, it probably easier to use that.

thanks again, i did try the properties thing in pclink before but i was expecting a pop up i know where to look now :)

If you use GP File Manager on your GP32 it displays the free amount also. Not the easiest, but good if you're deleting files using that anyway.
