I downloaded the firmware from the site click here be warned i will flash over your old firmware and i lost my doing this because i dint know what i was doing at the time. has anyone else tryed it

the beav

I tried it and I like it.
Everything loads very quickly now.
Try loading Super Plusha Demo before u flash and then after.
You will notice how much faster it is. :)

I thought it ran quicker too. Also i dont think it changes much but now it doesnt look as kiddy as it did before i flashed it, the load up also sounds better :p

Both this new beta and the existing Euro firmware have the same internal build number (1.6.6 (2003.5.21)).

It looks very much like this is just an 'official' release of the Euro FW and nothing really new :(.

I made a diff and starting from offset 4417 there are differences. very clever to distribute different builds with the same versioning information

Doh!, I stand corrected. Now to dig around and find out what the differances are.

it works okee, besides, it doesn't have the mp3 player, as the prev euro firmware and it doesn't have he beta player to. anyway, upload speed is faster and games look more smooth. try plusha and Doom. remember that final build will have the language selector and other implements. anyway for, 9/10 score.

I've tried it too and it's really weird when you press A button after reading on the screen something you don't understand, and then the wonderfull second progress bar that stops when it's half filled and you don't know if it worked or just fried your GP  Fortunatelly everything was ok and it worked fine.

But it's just a new release of the european firmware, no MP3 player and the fxe flasher is about double size of the Mr. Spiv's one who had lot of firmwares inside. But this one is the official, of course :p

Something new too is character font, for example when you enter PC-Link. A wonderfull 12 size Arial type font like the one I started using on my first projects... :D

I have the same probs, too! What to do? Install others drivers or wait until auqafish releases another version?
