I just downloaded SNESemu (not snes9xgp) and it runs MegamanX, Secret of Mana, and Rockman + Forte 100% and is extremely playable. the only problem is, there's no sound. It's awesome though, if you havent tried it, you should. :D

Oh, one more thing, there's no way to change the controls unless that particular rom/game let's you do it manually.

I can't figure out how to configure it! It didn't have a readme and it didn't seem to run when I tried...it just comes up with a blue bar with a white bit, that keeps moving erraticly. I think it's a file selector for a non-existant directory. When I push a button, it just goes to a black screen...

I looked back in the forums and didn't see anything on this subject... :/ I'm sure I could guess the directory...eventually...

uhm you have to put the roms in the snesemu directory.. :)
this is shit: snesemu and snes9x search for roms in different directories...
 .. it seems like they're fightning a sort of competition :) reminds me explorer vs netscape :D

anyway, the snesemu package really sucks :)
how could a person just only think about releasing a package where the only thing available is the fxe.
this sucks, and snesemu is not the only example.
this gp32 community is NOT, absolutely NOT a good one.
NO sources (hey where is this open source mentality to be found?)..
NO documentation.
bah. <_<

You need to create a SNES folder .
Your games should be in this folder (GP:/GPMM/SNES) .

This was only a BETA test version .
And it is from the GP32DEV .
Not a World Wide "public release" .
The ROM folder is GP:\GPMM\SNES\
The emulator should be in the GP:\GPMM\
I don't know if your system use "back slash or normal slash" (\ or /) .

Most programs have readme's or at least homepages with info on them...I think the lack of open source is a problem in some cases, though (I mean things like snes9xgp - since snes9x is open source, shouldn't the gp port be as well?). I think both programs were made in a rush, to be honest...snes9x appears only to attempt to be a 'working' port with minimal features (hence it doesn't put files in a directory), and snesemu obviously isn't intended for wide release yet. Give things time and I'm sure either one of these emulators will develop into something big...or maybe even another emulator or two altogether!

you obviously don't know ANYTHING about "this gp32 community", so you probably should just shut up.

if you had informed you a bit before posting such an infant message you would have know:

1 why snes.ace is only an fxe with nothing else
2 where sources are found and why some are not yet avail
3 where documentation is found

nihil, since you've been part of "this community" for just a week, I don't think that you would know SHIT about "this community" anyway, so keep your mouth shut if you're gonna complain.
Honestly, you mock the explorer/netscape battle and you try to start one yourself.... I don't get it....

I just compared SNESemu to SNES9xGP and i found that SNESemu doesnt do transparent layers!!! In Rockman + Forte, you cant see the text! So, I guess that's why it runs so fast. Oh well. ;)

A lot of whining, but the whiners have a point (they just aren't being cool about it).

On the one hand, people work their asses off cranking out *FREE* ports and emulators. They *ALL* deserve a big hand!

On the other hand, documention tends to be sparce, or spread out in many different places. IMHO, docs need to be in a readme zipped up with the code (and the source).

Source code is also an issue. Please include the source, or a place to download it.

As a programmer, I *HATE* doing documentation. I also *LOVE* having access to source code. Look at it this way, if other coders can "borrow" bits (interface bits for sure) from your code, they can use it to crank out MORE COOL STUFF!

I showed people my GP32 today...that's 3 people I've convinced to get one, and one's a programmer...he has a few ideas, and I think one of them is a SNES emulator. He wasn't happy with the 20fps or so I got out of megaman x. He seems to have a fairly good idea about the whole thing, I just kinda went "duuuuuuuuh?". You never know, it might work out. But don't hold your breath. He seems pretty determined, and he usually follows through with things...he certainly has enough experience. Just thought people would like to know I'm doing my bit to expand the 'scene' :p

I still know one other coder who's interested but hasn't seen it in action yet. So who knows what he'll wanna do? :p

Im sorry if it sounds like im whining.

good job programmers! (clap clap) (zardozJones)

I just wanted to let the others know what i'd found out of SNESemu because i was raving about it earlier.
