Can I have peoples opinions on what the quality is like when they watch films on Divx on the GP32? Also how can I get newish films like Two Towers to download to Divx?

basically, downlaod two towers off something like kazaa, Imesh, or WinMX, Convert it to the right divx format, compress it so it fits on smartmedia,

Wallah! there you have a pretty good looking two towers on your Gp32

hello,

I have found that with a good quality video file, after compression to fit on the GP32 it is around VCR quality. Some downloaded stuff from the internet is poor quality to begin with so it can be difficult to watch on the GP32. I have been extremely pleased with the quality of video play back in general.

I usually rip my own DVDs using DVDx - once I have them in AVI format I use the fantastic virtualdub to recode them at 320 x 240 -

You will find you own "magic settings" to use and if you are a beginner no one explains it better than

This guide is pretty groovy and will have you pumping out gp masterpeices in no time - the only addendum I could possibly make to it is to put in a note about increasing contrast slightly....I ripped my "Attack of the Clones" and the space scenes were just a little TOO black LoL

Have phun !

Where would a techno-reject like myself get my hands on DVDx? or is it allready lurking on my pc, mocking me......

@digestivedunker: is this ready for gp32? I mean... 10fps? If so the quality is great for the file size!

thanks directhex ill give it a look. its not really something i need until i actually *get* a GP32, but i might as well get some of the tedious downloading out of the way now (curse my lack of broadband).
