Has anybody thought of porting Goattracker?
It's a great C64-tracker for PC.
It would be cool to have on GP32, and be able to create cool music on the move :)

The source is available on Covert BitOps.

Or you can grab the file here: Source code

If knew how to do it, I would do it myself ;)

yes yes yes,

This is the best post I have ever seen ever EVER.

I didn't realise that goattracker was open source.

you could always try cyber tracker in frodo

http://noname.c64.org/tracker/

but the virtual keyboard will make it a bit painfull.

Yeah, I know, that's why I suggested Goattracker :)
I spoke to Lasse Öörni about it, but as he ain't familiar with GP32, he
couldn't/wouldn't port it himself.

Hm.. Are there any 'regular' trackers for GP32?

Btw, I CAN play bass ;) :D

No but there really should be, I am busy teaching myself c++ with the aim of porting a few trackers but life is hectic and I am way off. I can however write a programme that tells me howmany spare parts there are in an aircraft factory (day 12 c++ 24 days I think)

Tracker's, there is quite a bit of code for trackers at sourceforge. But I think goat tracker or bsmon-the actual tracker would be amazing and really boost the popularity of the gp LSDj is a cool tracker for the gameboy and it has done loads for that scene.

Oh I hate it when people come here and beg busy clever people to code stuff for them, but someone that knows SDL please do it, don't you realise what a god you would be?

please do you want to see me cry, because I will if thats what it takes.

should we make a poll and see what people would like, a mod tracker , retro sid or 303 type tracker ? effects etc. It might generate enough interest to get the ball rolling?

Tracker or other music related software is always nice.
A poll should be a great kick in the ass to some good "hackers" and programmers out there. I will search for maincode myself and hopefully i will post it soon.
 This can be immense fun for all GP32 owners waiting for some tunes on the move.....

I suggested a tracker a while ago, and someone very kindly pointed some file format documentation at me. I don't know where it originally came from, but I still have the files on my computer if anyone would find them helpful. With various mod playing libraries around it should really be a case of just coding a nice interface, and editing the data that the playback library accesses. i know, easier said than done, but it's an idea :)
