Got my tv-out cable yesterday, and hooked it up today.

There also appears to be a very slight decrease in speed with the tv-out feature, it is noticable but minimal.

I tried the following games/emulators with tv-out, and got the following results (working off memory, I didn't make notes at the time):

DrMD - plays games great, but the menus are screwed up.
FishyNes - Only shows the left half of the games
GP2xEngine - Plays games about 1/4 of the space on the tv
Hexen - Plays perfectly - shame there is no loading gamestate feature yet (saves, doesn't load - can this be fixed please?)
MAME - Plays perfectly, although sound quality is slightly poorer.
GPFce - Only shows the left half of the games
RACE - Only shows the left half of games
SMS - Plays perfectly
SquidgeSnes - I think it worked fine (can't remember)
Sudoku - Plays perfectly
Tilematch - Plays perfectly
Vektar - Plays perfectly
Wolfenstein 3D - Plays perfectly
ScummMv - Plays perfectly

Perhaps others could add to this list with their findings, and their comments? :)

The games (in my opinion) from the above, which played with the best visual quality using tv-out were Wolfenstein 3D, Hexen and Vektar.

gngeo2x - works great, but looks blocky and washed out after playing the same games with the GP2x screen. (As does MetalSlug3 for the Xbox though!)

Honestly, didn't you noticed that every n lines, the display skip a couple of lines!? Isn't that a problem for you?
I mean watching letters on tv i.e, you can spot that is not a clear pic, but seems that some lines are missing.
Even the scrolling of some shooter shows better the problem, but even the menu screen is messed up!
If you picture is "perfectly" please tell me cause, maybe I have to change my settings!

Yeah, I get the same thing about some lines being skipped. Hardly a showstopper, but annoying. I wonder if there is any chance of this being fixed in future firmwares or software updates?

Sob...

I think that the problem is how the software adapts the native resolution of the game trough the tv out (probably a similar but not identical) a sort of compromise. But if the tv-out uses a fixed resolution I think won't be easy to fix.

I think that cause when you use screen scaling in mame/squidge (to stretch the image at fullscreen using the lcd, not the tv-out) you can see a similar problem, related to the fact that the pixels are just that, and somehow they cannot interpolate or things like that.

Hope someone with more deeper knowledge will read this posts!

TV-Out Fixer
"Utility which tries to solve a problem that happens with TV-Out and some programs. Once activated, it launches a background proccess that, at stablished time intervals, fixes the screen if the TV-Out mode is enabled. This way, many programs that do not have TV-Out support, can be used right away."

I like that the Wiki is being updated with TV-Out results. Please keep this up, folks.
