Wikipedia Article On Gpx2 (how I Found Out It Existed) Needs Fixing

Also added a half-decent feature list and bugfix list for Firmware v2.0.0. I am sure it is by no means complete but I do believe I caught the most important changes and things most end users will pick up on. Also expanded a bit on the DRM section, History section, overview, and corrected a lot of just generally wrong things all over the place. Firmware 2.0.0's notes should probably be their own distinct section but I can worry about that tomorrow.

This bit about FW 1.4 causing First Edition GP2X units to be inoperable.. this sounds like BS. Confirmation of that? .. They all use the same MMSP2 SoC regardless of revision, if there were problems they should be universal to all GP2X units or they were just reports of misflashes due to user error or power failure, etc.

I sexed up the wikipedia article a bit by adding formatting to some parts, and cleaning up parts that rendered incorrectly.

He is probably talking about when the FW was updated sometimes it would introduce bugs like in the video player. He also is probably refering to the autobricking that happened time to time as well or when a flash went bad.

shouldn't "Criticism, issues and controversy" be renamed Firmware history and ignore the whole controversy. and any *mistakes* just be part of history.

There have been several revisions along the way, the screen and rotated joystick is just the latest.

BTW have a look at the other handheld consoles. eg Gameboy Advance has such sections as

# 1 Hardware

* 1.1 Processors
* 1.2 Dimensions
* 1.3 Display
* 1.4 Graphics
* 1.5 Media
* 1.6 Connectivity

did you know Sony owns WIKI....

ok we all know thats not true (at least lets hope not) but you can see how easy it is spread false information. So updating the wiki is a great idea keep it up.

I added a list of emulators it runs and re-ordered the history and such. Tried to make it more presentable as we have some good content now, just placed here and there.

Firmware 2.0 was made by a different compant? I didnt know that!

Dignsys seems only capable of producing the firmware equivalent of abortions, and GPH was only using them due to contractual obligation upon the use of the MMSP2 SoC.

Whoever edited the article back to '240 MHz' processors ... I fixed that for a reason. It's a technical inaccuracy. The processors are rated for 200 MHz, they just operate at 240 MHz with stability.
