Hello

Does someone know how i have to connect whires to the power input of a USB HUB?
The power connector has 3 points where i can attach a wire

Maybe you have an example or something?

When you say "USB Hub" do you mean the one on the GP2x or on a standard USB Hub ?
For the GP2x it's not just a case of connecting it up.
If you take a look at the WIKI Here it'll tell you how to go about making an connection to the USB Host on the GP2x.

On there it shows you where/how to connect the 5v for the USB so devces can use it.

Hope that helps

thanks but that's what i already know :p

i really mean on my USB Hub

Heres the USB hub

The VCC is connected to VUSB
USB- is connected to USBH-
USB+ is connected to USBH+
GND is connected to GND

And the U+ is also connected to VUSB
And U- is connected to GND

I don't know if this is correct?

And the unknow is the one i don't know :p but thats obvious hehe

that may be for switching bw external power or powetred through usb. so may not be necessary since you have an external power supply connected to both usb and power socket

Ek, pass!
What's the component that the solder pads link to on the other side of the board?
Looks like it might be something to do with that.
I am ony guessing though

its leading to capacitator (R32) and then it's goimg to Q1

I don't know

Because when i use the normal power adapter the Orange led lights up
And when i connect it to my self made power input it doesn't light up

I suspect that the unknown input is actuelly ground!

on those adaptors, the back input is almost always the center pain, and the ground input can be eiter fo the other two pins

if you're getting nothing from it, attach your power adaptor to it, then put a multimeter across those pins. you should get 5v between earth and the 5v pin, and 0v between earth and a disconected pin.

It may be possible that it is a switch that connects to Ground/Negative when there is no power plug in that socket.

If that is the case you can check it with an ohmmeter, connect between ground and the mystery pin with no plug in the socket, get a measurement, then plug in the *unpowered* supply plug and see what the reading is now.

If that is what it is then maybe it would be best to use some other way to get your hub powered.

PS see this:
Just a thought, why not ditch that plan for power and use one of these?

CyberPower USB hub

It uses 4 AAA batteries and is all ready to go smile.gif

Just forget the wiring of that schematic for power and use this thing instead, it makes for a much cleaner mod.
