Hi,

I am running SMSPlus2x but it freezes a lot.

Does Dr MDx play SMS games? I cannot get it to play any of my .sms files.

What is the best SMS emu for the gp2x?

Thanks,

Ken

OK, well, I can't wait then, because DrMDx is a work of art!

Similarly, is there anything better to emu game gear than SMSPlus2x?

Wow, Game Gear and SMS were the same? I always thought that the GG looked a heck of a lot better than the SMS. I really want a good emu to come out for SMS games, I found this rom that is a clone of The Adventure of Link. It has the same maps pretty much, same screen layout, and then uses the main character sprite from Dragon Warrior.

Thanx,
Stan

The only difference between the Game Gear and SMS is the fact that the GG supports a hell of a lot more colors...

The GG had a lower resolution though. The best SMS emu is DRSMS for the Gp32, it ran full speed with sound 0 frameskip at like *66 MHz*. I was hoping someday Reesy would port it to the GP2X. If he did, SMS emulation would be complete on the GP2X.

lol...you're right DaveC... Although, the GG Res wasn't that much lower, so it didn't really feel like a tradeoff... Hmm... more colors, or a slightly lower res screen?

I got osmose working but it was very slow. Even with frameskip it was unplayable, although I always play with sound on. But it's early days and only the first release so I dont expect miracles.

I think reesey is working on a SMS emu for the gp2x. It was on another post n the forum somewhere.

He had one for the GP32, I doubt it would take him long to port it. The only problem was that the palette in GG games was glitched, the games still ran though.

If Reesy ported his SMS emu SMS would be taken care of forever on the GP2X. You would be able to run it full speed, full sound, 0 FS at like 66 MHZ as that is what it was on the GP32.
