Chess?

Battle chess, available on different platforms.

That's all that comes to mind ... I'm sure there's others.

I'm working on something right now. I've already got GNU Chess v5 ported as a text-based chess engine, and I'm writing an SDL graphics frontend for it. This is similar to the way Xboard and Winboard work. The nice thing about this is you can replace the chess engine easily. If someone ports Crafty, for example, they can just drop it in as a replacement.

The frontend is nowhere near ready yet.

I remember playing "Grand Master" on the C64... if you're more interested in difficulty than graphics then it might we worth a try under vice. I don't seem to remember battlechess being all that hard.

Fantastic, that´s what i´ve been waiting for for so long
Battle chess and all the others have too weak engines. Crafty would be nice, but there are some more open source engines out there as well.
Please keep us informed!
