I was just curious if anyone knows if it is in the plans to improve the TV OUT function. Really what I'm looking for is a solution to the problem that makes the screen corrupt when running certain programs/emus (like drmd). Can we expect a change in the firmware to allow programs compiled without the original sdk to function properly, or do you think we will have to rely on all devs to conform everything to the existing firmwares parameters?

Someone's already found a fix. It's all to do with the scaling. Also, on the wiki somewhere. The author of Vice2x revealed it first, I think.

So yeah. It's not a firmware issue, it's the same thing as the BLU/BLU+ thing. Just a little tweaking in the code.

Ryleh just needs to release a new version of his minilib, and then all the emulators that use it will work.

Of course, you could always add the lines and compile it yourself.

Nope. You need to download the sourcecode for the emulator you want to change, add a few lines to scale it up and recompile it. As far as I know, there isn't a quick fix.
