Sorry, that's illegal.

It's a good idea to read the forum rules before posting as a general rule of thumb. Saves you from getting banned.

If you want legal stuff, get a copy of an encoder, and visit archive.org. There's a ton of public domain movies, cartoons, and bizarrely adverts. They're old, but there's some gems in there, as well as more recent Indy movies (Open Source Movies, I think they call them).
I realise this isn't exactly what you're after but it's enough to fill an SD card or twelve, and you won't get your wrist slapped.

If you want eg. the Simpsons, go out and buy the DVD of the Simpsons, then use the program "AutoGK" to rip it to an AVI.

Then use "PocketDivX" to convert it to the correct size and format for GP2X (320x240 DivX or Xvid).

It doesn't take 'AVI files of a DVD'. AutoGK is actually a group of programs which work together.

First you have to run DVD Decrypter, select Mode > IFO and click the big "DVD to HDD" button. This decrypts and rips the DVD to your computer as raw VOB files.

* at this point you might want to check the VOB files have ripped correctly by loading them up in your DVD player software. (if your DVD was called HARRY_POTTER then you would expect to find the files in C:\HARRY_POTTER\VIDEO_TS) *

Then you run AutoGK, selecting 'DVD input' and pointing it at the VIDEO_TS directory which DVD Decrypter created. You set up everything how you want it, and then click "Add Job" and "Start". Then go away, because it's going to take at least an hour.

What you end up with (hopefully) is a nice AVI file.

It was meant for the original topic poster... but seriously if you don't know where to find divx video and you have internet... well then... you DO suck at the internet.

Ahaha! That's the funniest post I read this month!

Archive.org does indeed have a large collection of free legal moving pictures. Lots of them are worth watching, and are more entertaining than the trash we see in theatres these days.

Agreed, modern movies in the theatres are crap, but, would you mind tell me the name of a nice 1:30 h movie with a good plot that's available on archive.org?

Sure thing, try "Night of the Living Dead" or "Carnival of Souls". Sure, they're not masterpieces, but they both threw original ideas into the stew, a thing that is quite rare in today's sequels. :)
