hello everyone, I've recently bought a 2nd hand GP32 and am having some problems getting either DrMD or fGEN32 to work. The guy who sold me the machine left some emus on the card and these work correctly. However, although the genesis eumlators copy over correctly, none of them seem to be able to find the roms in my GENESIS directory. I've tried both zipped and .smd files. The files were also copied via a usb SMC reader. I'm stumped - any help would be gratefully recieved!

I think you must use "re-scan directory" option in the menu to search for new roms.

How many roms are you trying to scan? Try with a few selected ones... maybe some bad rom screw it all.

I first tried it with a load of roms, but i've since tried it with a small number of roms. I've also tried with a small number of zipped roms and a small number of unzipped roms. The Genesis folder is is in GPMM - giga drive is able to see and Roms that the other emulators are unable to find.

It's strange... it works for everyone, so if anything works, just format your SMC and try again.

Sorry.

I don't want to sound harsh but this must be something that you are doing wrong.

Re-read the readme and make sure you are doing all the steps well (specially check the "easy" steps).

Are you using GP-Manager or Pc-link to transfer roms? If you use GP-Manager just delete it and use Pc-link or a card-reader.

Thats what i thought, but i really can't find anything. The main fxe file is in the GPMM directory, the ROM file is in GPMM/GENESIS. This appears to be all that it asks for. Also, Gigadrive works fine and can see the rom file. Im confused :(

Ok, so i've now tried:

-A different SMC
-Different Firmware
-Different Roms
-Running the Emu from a different directory.

It still can't find the roms! Does anyone have any advice left?

Thanks!

I have the same problem.
All my emus works fine - except of "DrMDv4-1.zip", I scan for .bin, .smd, or .zip files but after saving to the games list?! no game appear in the list, only rescan or retourn to main menu is there.... thats bad couse this genesis emu is the so called best for gp32, but dont run my games (also have the originals - how works ThunderForceIV?)

Isnt there anybody who can help?
I´m from austria - dont know anyone who own a gp32 in my town, only I-net can help

I had pretty much the same deal. ok. make sure your roms are under a folder labeled genesis. (i always stick everything in the c drive. It always seems to show up there. now go up to the upper right square under gpmm. highlight or click the dr md folder. then just drag the genesis folder from the bottom to the top and stick it right into dr md. it should do all the work for you.

Ok, i'm a little confused. I thought you just had to have the GENESIS folder in the GPMM folder? what should the directory structure actually look like, sorry?

I think you might have a bigger problem and your already ahead of the advice im giving you but here goes anyway. I had problems adding roms and shit to preloaded apps, dr md and little john but what i did was just load the two back on there (stuck it in gpmm) and then stick what I wanted in there. But what I had to do was reformat my smc and THEN highlight the dr. md, then drag the folder (CALL IT GENESIS) with all my roms into it. try that.
