I can't seem to find a Beats of Rage linux client, is the one for the GP2X just ran through a dos emulator? I really want to try the Astrix and Mega Man mods, but all of them look fun.

Thanx,
Stan

The only reason it hasn't come out for Linux is that no-one has gotten around to porting it yet. :) The source code is freely available on the website, so I assume that it's just a matter of getting libraries for the source that work under the '2x.

Allan.

early on before the 2X came out the discussion of a BoR port was discussed and someone suggested that it already HAD been ported. I think there was even a link but it seems I can't track it down.

Hum, I just wanted to try it out, waiting for my GP2X, it shipped, should get here tomorrow or maybe Monday, definitely by the middle of next week. I did a Google search for a Linux or OSX client but nothing came up, I can use an emu, but I was just wondering if the GP2X used an emu for it's 'port'. I just got all wisdom teeth pulled and wanted something to keep my mind off the pain, but I have a SNES emu, so I'm good.

Thanx,
Stan

No, if the GP2X was using a DOS emulator for BOR it would be running at an ungodly slow pace. It's a port, as in someone took the source for it and modified it so that it would run on the GP2X.

If it's a port where is the source? Is it the original BoR or is it openBoR? I just want to run it on my Linux box. I guess it doesn't matter now, I just got my replacement GP2X today, but no 'first edition' on it, oh well, no bragging rights.

Thanx,
Stan

Not to mention there would be MANY posts about DOS and what works with the emu and all. XD

I'm pretty sure all of their source code is available on their website.

I meant the Linux port specifically, I guess they're waiting for a stable version to release the source code.

Thanx,
Stan
