1) What on average is the battery life with some 2500 mah batteries while watching videos?
2) is the video playback nice enough and the screen large enough to make it worth the effort?
3) Is there going to be updates in future firmware to make mp3 playback use less battery, and have playlists and what not?

1) 4hours.... give or take I think (maybe closer to 5), masnaged to watch Serenity twice anyway - although it did crash 2nd time about half way through, but not because of the batteries )
2)Playback and screen are excellent - except when it crashes -_- But should be fixed in next firmware I believe.
3)MP3 already shuts off the backlight to get more juice out of it, other than that I think its more the homebrew devs that you'll have to wait for.

Hope that helps ;)

buy a crystal globe, that might tell you....

oh and for mp3 you can clock down to ~66mhz, that gives you plently of time, i would gues about 10hours.

I don't understand why i got flamed with some lame crystal globe forum fodder. I asked a regular normal question. I would love to become a part of this community and hopefully dev my own stuff.... you disgust me.

welcome, in my experence on these boards flames are few an far between + i dont think he was flaming he was just saying that no1 is realy sure what devs are doing @tm, god might do thought lol l8rs

4 hours on 2500mah batteries?!!!

that kinda sucks.

I though the website for the gp2x said 6 hours on video playback. and it didn't even mention 2500mah batteries.
If I didn't know any better I would take the gp2x website as being able to watch 6 hours of video on 2x alkaline battery
