hello,

My GP32 arrives tomorow :D , I tried to get a few of my movie files formated for viewing on the GP and have run into trouble.

I downloaded Vdub version 1.2, and I got the Divx codec 4.12.
I open Vdub and open the movie file and I do all of the settings just like the "how to" section on Entware.com says to. Then I click on " save avi" to get things started and the machine just sits there doing nothing. How long does a 22min video file take to encode? I waited like 13 minutes of it just sitting there. Should I have waited longer?

I tried Virtual dub 1.51 and had the exact same results

Is this common or am I just running into some bad video files?

Help.

what spec machine are you trying to run virtual dub on?

if the title bar said "dub in progress" then it was doing its job. remember to set decimate by 3, NOT any other changes to the framerate. it takes about 12 minutes to do 22 minutes for me on my pentium 4 2.26ghz (with many quality filters)

I am running an Athalon 1ghz with 512mb ram.

In the virtual dub settings I didnt decimate by three because the files were already encoded down to 10fps
Should I still decimate if it is already 10fps?

no.

and on that spec machine, it's gonna take a fair while to encode movies.

It took 40 minutes to resize/compress Monsters Inc (about 100mins), and just over an hour to do Spirited away (over 120 mins) on my PIII 850mhz (with 512MB)...

i don't think it would take much longer than ur pc to be honest, i'm doing 30min files in about 20mins on a pIII 650 with 392mg

how many quality filters are on that tho? Nearest Neighbour looks roughly equivalent to something the cat did...
