does anybody know where to find campaigns or mods for gpfinalwar?
after searching a while, it seems to me like some where announced, but none released.

As far as I know, you are correct. Too bad too as I was looking forward to the Dune mod that was being produced. GPfinalwar really is one of the best and coolest homebrew titles out there; it deserves more attention

don't think so. although i didn't really play it , i think gpwars has something like a dune2-mode, maybe you're thinking of that.

weren't there two different versions of gpwar? The first had easy, medium, hard and maybe three other campaigns. The second had a dune like one, an advance wars like one, and i think another (can't remember...).

The first gpwar had ~7 (maybe less) campaigns included (lots of levels per campaign and there was dune and warcraft campaigns) while gpwar2 only had about 20 levels or so in total... but back to the actual topic gpfinalwar was really cool it's too bad it didn't get totally finished off it was great!

You`re right.

Just to clarify, the game being asked about here is gpFINALwar not GPWars... as far as I'm aware, GPFW was only ever released with the built in campaign, and the capability to make more. Someone did start a Dune campaign, but I don't remember seeing it finished. Matkepon made it, iirc; he might know for sure if anyone ever took advantage of the campaign making abilities of that oh so fantastic game.

GPWars is the Advance Wars clone by Aquafish, and may or may not have had other campaign modes for it; I never played it.

I thought it *was* completed... or at least very very close to. I'm sure I remember it getting to a version where it was possible to play in a real campaign (i.e. with some remote idea of a story) against a computer, and it was CERTAINLY at the point where people could design campaigns for it.

Ok, not version 1.0, but it came a very long way...

Is Matkepon still around atm or did he vanish somewhen between now and last February?

Currently coding for the PSP, though I haven't seen him for the last weeks, so he's probably taking a break right now.
